Where was the Lib Outrage when Jimmy Carter did away with collective bargaining rights for federal employees?

To answer your question: "Why did Jimmy Carter and Congress end collective bargaining rights for federal workers?", I refer to the old Buddhist saying: "Even a broken clock shows the right time twice a day." Government employees (on any level) are not employed in a competetive marketplace, and their wages and benefits are paid by the coerced taxpayer, so they should never be allowed to unionize. At one time in our nation's history, there was a legitimate and moral need for "worker rights", and labor unions for certain industries fit the bill.

All the legitimate and moral aspects of labor standards (minimum wage, maximum hours, minimum age, workplace safety, etc) FOR THE INDIVIDUAL WORKER are now codified in state and federal labor laws. Unions serve no purpose, today except: to fund political campaigns (from extorted members' dues), to raise the consumer cost of commodities because of an artificial value placed on the labor to produce them, and to force employers to look to foreign labor markets to make profits.

Democrats are the ultimate hypocrites. They are pro-choice when it comes to infanticide, but when it comes to allowing people the choice to opt out and not be forced to pay dues to a union that they may not support then they don't care. It's the same thing with public education.

They don't think that a parent should be allowed to choose where there own children go to school. So if you cannot afford to live in an area with a decent school then it's "sorry about your luck".

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
