In my honest opinion (I am a dog groomer) there are few breeds that I am wary of grooming. The Chow Chow is one of them. They tend to be 1 person dogs and can be quite nasty with other people.
The other breed is the Sharpei. I have had less problems with pitbulls and rottweilers (never had a problem with either of those breeds). I am sure there are Chow lovers out there that will give me many "thumbs down" but I call them as I see them and it's not a breed for me.
I have had 9 dogs over my lifetime (have 3 now). I have never even considered a Chow Chow. Also, if they are looking for a "reasonably" priced one, they are likely not going through reputable breeders who guarantee the dogs for physical fitness and temperament.
Good luck. I will stay away from the breed!
Chows are not exactly a breed if you plan on taking a dog out with meeting a lot of new people. They're more independent and aloof than other breeds. If you're looking for a more people friendly dog, I'd suggest another breed.
I knew a family growing up who got rid of their chow after it bit one of the owners.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
