Why can't all colleges and universities have Open Enrollment?

Private colleges tend to offer 2-4 year programs with lenient admission standards. You need to have a high school diploma to apply, but admission is often based on interviews and entrance exams. There are quite a few private colleges in the Toronto area.

Lately, I've been hearing about CDI College, Everest College, Synergy Business College, and triOS College, but there are many more ... have a look in the Yellow Pages: http://canada411.yellowpages.ca/search/s... Keep in mind, however, that private colleges are often just "cash grab" schemes, and the general consensus is to stay away from them. They'll advertise as though they're the best option out there, but many of the schools have sub-par standards of education, and their degrees/diplomas/certifications don't command a lot of credibility in the labour market. If you do opt to take this route, be cautious of aggressive recruitment tactics.

Research the school well to get a good sense of what the programs are like, how credible their certifications are, and what the post-graduate success rate is like. I'd like to also add that, although universities are out of the question like Lori said, it won't hurt to apply to public colleges (like Centennial College, George Brown, Humber, Seneca, etc.). They do assess high school grades for admission, but sometimes if a program is under-subscribed, they'll let in applicants below the cut-off standards.

I know of someone who barely passed high-school but made it into a program at Centennial College in Toronto. Public colleges also offer "Continuing Education" courses designed for adults looking to upgrade their credentials. They usually don't require high school grades for admission, and the assessments are made on a case-by-case basis.

These aren't quite 2- or 4-year programs, they're short-term certificates or individual courses, but if you do well in them, you could easily transition into a legitimate 2-4 year program at the college. Good luck, and I hope this helps!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
