Why do I feel more tired when I wake up after sleeping for 12 hours as opposed to when I sleep for only 8 hours at night?

Too much sleep is bad for health. According to researchers, more than 8 hours sleep each night is bad for you. We have all known that too little sleep is bad for you.

The optimal amount of sleep is not a meaningful concept unless the timing of that sleep is seen in relation to an individual's circadian rhythms. A person's major sleep episode is relatively inefficient and inadequate when it occurs at the "wrong" time of day; one should be asleep at least six hours before the lowest body temperature. Human sleep need can vary by age and among individuals, and sleep is considered to be adequate when there is no daytime sleepiness or dysfunction.

Too much sleep causes many hazards including depression, lethargy, idleness, etc. Adults need at least eight hours of sleep a night for good health. Infants typically sleep at least 16 hours a day. Most preschoolers need at least 11 hours of sleep a night, and most school-age children need at least 10 hours sleep.

A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
