Why does your outdoor area light turn on and then off over and over?

If the fixture is a photo cell driven device at night when this happens the most likely cause is the photocell is seeing a light source from its self. Reposition the sensing head so that the light from the bulb is not reflected into the photo cell. The cycling is caused by the unit thinking it is daytime when the light is on so it shuts off.

When it shuts off it thinks it is night time and turns on The light bulb might be about to call it quits, or you might have an electrical fault. Try changing the light bulb; if this makes no difference, you'll need to call an electrician.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
