Why some people are against executions?

Because rotting on jail is worse than dying and because we can't expect our society to get better if we kill people to teach people that killing is wrong Secondly, you're not a Muslim if you believe in execution.

Actually, there are many pacifists in this world who would want their killer to be forgiven, not killed. You absolutely cannot, on a moral level, execute someone for their execution of another. Ever hear the term 'violence begets more violence'?

You can't solve problems by exhibiting the same behavior as the wrongdoers.

Governments make mistakes. If there is any chance some innocent can be put to death then it cant be justified. The death penalty is racial bias more people of color face death row than do theirwhite counterparts who commit the same crimes.

Plus its barbaric.... You want executions? Then bring back public ones in the town sqaure where the whole family can watch. See how long it lasts.

Because wrongful convictions aren't rare enough, so the chance of innocent people dying at the hands of the government is too high to justify. Plus, it's immoral to allow the government to kill its own people. And remember that religion is a nice fairy tale, but it doesn't defeat logic.

An execution is mercy compared to a life sentence, just saying that because you seem to want justice/punishment for them. I find it strange so many people are giving a thumbs down to others who say they might be innocent. Our justice system isn't perfect, this is far too obvious.

I used to think that way. But there have been more than a few times in the past when the local justice system has been convenient rather than right. There are still states that don't understand that DNA can be more right than an eyewitness.

Sometimes the justice system incarcerates innocent people. Also, this is the modern age. Executions are for primitive people.

Most of the western civilized world is now against executions.

I am for the death penalty. Makes no sense spending millions of tax payer dollars on keeping hard core criminals behind bars. A simple shot to the head would save us a lot of money.

So that we can pay Saddam to live comfortabe in prison.

There are people that would rather save a rare rock then an unborn child.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
