There is no need for psychologists in universities, or colleges. They have their particular belief system, which is belief, not science (much as they try to con others into thinking otherwise, there's no proof to any of it). The local Christian fellowship is more successful at changing lives and alleviating the pain of existence than a clutch of psychologists ever can be (or are.) The only need would be for psychiatrists to prescribe lithium for the bipolar and schizophrenic because those are actual physical glitches that can now be treated with medicine.
Because all of us mean old faculty members make them study and do research so they will learn something. Sadly, they don't learn how to do that in the lower grades any more - they spend all their time learning how to take standardized tests where high scores will make the school and teachers there look good. Their reading, writing, comprehension and critical thinking skills when they come to a university are non-existent.
Then, the first day of class we assign them a chapter to read in a book and tell them they're going to have to write a 10-page paper, (due in 10 weeks) citing "x" number of sources from their research and they become totally and completely traumatized. My God! All that work is going to cut into their texting and Facebook time!
Whatever are they going to do? This isn't like high school at all. So, having become traumatized over that, they head to the university health service and make an appointment to see the shrink who will hopefully explain to them that they aren't in high school any more and need to work to earn a good grade.
Wiki: "The word university is derived from the Latin universitas magistrorum et scholarium, roughly meaning "community of teachers and scholars. "Universities cover all topics including psychology. Psychology may be a soft science but it is a science.
The scientific method is used to gather information and knowledge. This is unlike religion which demands belief without proof. When you cross the street do you look both ways or do you just have faith that you won't get hit?
For many young adults the myriad of social and intellectual options that universities introduce them to can be overwhelming, especially during the first semesters. Formerly their education had been provided in a highly structured environment that limited their choices, monitored attendance and encouraged the student's studies. Now the freshman is free to attend classes or not, to study and complete assignments or not, the responsibility resting solely upon their shoulders.
Some students have not acquired the discipline needed to maintain a sufficient focus on the primary purpose for attending a university, and to resist libidinal and escapist impulses. Social dynamics can clash with limited skills making it difficult to become a part of a supportive group or extended family and can lead to depression. Perturbations arising from being presented ideas that are incompatible or in opposition to existing notions can generate anxiety.
Either can lead to self-medication and other potentially self-destructive behaviors. Psychologists can be very helpful is working through these problems.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
