Without cablecard or cable box, is your HDTV with QAM able to pick up all the local HD Channels? Missing ABCHD?

Missing ABCHD. Looks like cable company is making it tough for QAM-tuner users. Missing FOXHD and PBSHD before, but just recovered it somehow, but still missing ABCHD, maybe I am not the only one.

The struggel with QAM is not about money - I can afford a bit extra each month, but that really defeats the purpose of havinga QAM tuner in the TV. Asked by boxing 57 months ago Similar questions: cablecard cable box HDTV QAM pick local HD Channels Missing ABCHD Consumer Electronics > TV & Video.

You may need a built-in ATSC tuner; otherwise you're at the mercy of the cable company I will never go back to cable for a number of reasons. But the fact is they have fairly limited capacity for HD at this point. I've read about several schemes they plan to implement which would save them the bandwidth they use on analog channels so that they can deliver more HD through QAM.

But it seems they would rather rent you a box so they don't have much incentive in improving this at the moment. If your TV has a built-in ATSC tuner, the good news is you can pick up the channels you're missing off the air with even a small antenna. The bad news is you're paying cable to provide this functionality and they're not delivering. So I really would suggest forgetting about QAM and cable altogether and going with DirecTV.

It's the only way you're going to receive all the channels you want without having to switch inputs. True, cable delivers slightly higher picture quality, but what good is it if you're not picking up the channels you want? Good luck!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
