Would you read this poem and share any comments that come to mind?

Thank you for the guidance. This poem reminds me of a story named The Phantom of the Opera (written by Jennifer Basset I think). I don’t know whether you’ve read it or not, I am going to tell you my reasons.

The story is about a ghost in the opera house of Paris. He is not actually a ghost and the reader will find it out during the story line. It focuses on a girl whom is loved by the phantom and a prince (a reach man).

When the phantom realizes that the girl is also in love with the prince he decides to kill the prince. The girl loves the prince so she finally accepts to be phantom’s wife and she freely kisses him at the end of the story. By this action (letting go of greed which is here love) phantom changes his mind and he released the prince.

He also releases the girl who is in his custody inside the opera house. The girl marries the prince and story ends. What I really found ridiculous is love.

No wait…. Let me talk please :) hehehe…. As I have written in my profile main page, I believe in God by logic not by faith.

If you believe in God by faith you can never find good answers for some questions. The subject of love is one of those. I am not going be rude or to be offensive; I am only telling you what I realized after some years of studying (4 to 6 years).

Let me begin with an example. When a mom gives birth to a baby she doesn’t know what kind of future her baby will have. He (her baby) may become a drug addictive, a killer, thief, smuggler, beggar, sinner, and etc. Yes these are just some possibilities but they can happen to him.

So the mom is never sure about the future her son will have. Now the only thing that matters to her is the baby and she cannot even describe how much she loves her baby (love). Now, if I take the baby and put him in a highway or a street to kill the baby, what will she do?

She will do anything to save her baby. Why? Why is she willing to save him while she knows if the baby dies he will directly go to heaven and he will not become a smuggler or… and she is sure of it.

So why is she still insisting on saving the baby? Because of Love. She wants to save her baby because she cannot live without him.

So she really doesn’t care her son will go to heaven by this action, she wants her baby back. And because of this I say love is greedy. In fact the purest love is the greediest one.

Now it is said that one of the main purposes of human creation is to love God. It means you should only love god and be greedy. I have no problem with that but being greedy is forbidden.

So should I stop loving my family and friends? This is a dead-end question that cannot be answered by faith while to be faithful is to be a lover and to be a lover is to be a greedy one and being greedy is forbidden. So when I say love never gave me peace is not meaningless.

What I just said is one of the reasons and other reasons are related to my personal life. 'greedy' word also reminds me of a movie named The Shining staring Jack Nicholson directed by Stanley Kubril (the father of horror genre) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Shining... I am sorry if I over talked but when I read your poems I cannot control myself. I am also so sorry I sounded offensive.

Well Mr. "O", I was getting ready to ask where have you been. Thought you had taken up cattle ranching or something. I see now you have been busy writing a great story.

You grabbed me by the collar and gave me a great pause here, "Let go. You do not need these things." Summed it up with a lesson we all should heed, those THINGS do not matter nor define us at the end of our days.

I really enjoyed this!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
