Are any of the Foundation novels written by writers other than Asimov worth reading?

First off, I haven't read any of these Foundation novels that were written beyond Asimov's own books. However, if they are anything like all the other 'in the spirit of' books, like the 'prequel to Dune' books, and all those other ones, they carry the spirit of the original series, but lack the brilliant new ideas introduced and cultivated by the original author. Asimov was a brilliant writer, who 'invented' the first and second foundation, and the idea of a hidden body, controlling the general future of our race.

I can't imagine other writers being able to come up with a similar brilliant idea to build out this series, so the most you'll get is 'more of the same.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
