As a Brit living in the USA the idea of people being allowed to carry guns just mystifies me. Thousands of little children are killed because they get hold of guns and play with them and it is ironic that it is usually idiot pro-life conservatives who encourage gun ownership and cause these child deaths The whole gun culture is just idiotic and people in Europe are amazed at the fact that American citizens own weapons. It's absurd.
Cops don't even carry guns in the UK.
Blacks and Hispanic are victims of most gun crime in America. And most gun crime is in Urban centers. What people fail to realize is the government can not protect you. If a citizen could sue the government for not protecting them, then I would be for the elimination of guns.
But the government can't. So ultimately, citizens are sheep in a world of wolves. The government can't protect you and the criminal doesn't care.
Where does that leave your average law abiding citizen? In a world of uncertainty. BEH, do you know more children die from swimming pools then guns?
People have a tendency to believe perception over facts. What people also fail to note is how many people are alive today because they were armed. How many deaths, rapes and other crimes have been averted because some one had a weapon.
Look these stats up. You'd be surprised. One more note.
The declaration of independence calls on citizens to abolish destructive governments. This can only be done through force (Weapons) Edit: I never said I endorsed relaxed guns laws (what ever that means). Have a 6 week course, FBI back ground check, finger print people if you want, charge them $200 a year to carry.
I don't care. Just allow trained responsible people to carry guns is all I'm saying.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
