The blast that occurred around 9:19 a.m. Which is approximately 80 miles south of Vermilion Bay off the coast of Louisiana was earlier reported to have a one mile long and 100 foot wide of oil sheen which was spotted at the site of the explosion. But authorities later backtracked and said that they could not confirm any presence of sheen.
According to John Edwards of the US Coast Guard, the platform was not actively producing any product while Mariner Energy released a statement in connection with this and said no oil sheen was spotted. According to Bobby Jindal, the governor of the State of Louisiana, the Vermilion 380 platform had been shut and oil that is flowing from the bottom of the gulf had been stopped and that the fire that was burning was due to flammable materials on the platform.
I just finished reading an article about the vermillion bay off shore oil rig explosion|Vermilion Bay offshore oil rig explosion. I was really worried. The article states that there does not appear to be an oil leak as a result of the oil rig explosion this morning.
There was the report of the 100ft wide oil sheen by the Coast Guard. It is said that this rig is in a much shallower part of the water than the BP mess earlier this year. So, that gives promising news in the event that there is a leak.
Simply because it would be easier to plug should a leak occur. Hopefully that won't happen, but it is a bit relieving that if it does, it won't be nothing to fix compared to the BP, which was a mile deep in the ocean. This one off Vermilion Bay is only 320 feet deep.
Big difference!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
