Yes we do, and yes it drives me nuts (but not my wife) Funny that you should ask, as I was just talking to my wife about this as we drove past a house in our neighborhood that still has the following up: 1. Lights on the house 2. Deflated Christmas characters on the lawn (2 of them) 3.

A plastic Santa on the lawn It doesn't bother me because I'm a Grinch or don't like Christmas, it bothers me because I can't believe how incredibly lazy these people must be. A good number of people in our neighborhood decorate their homes for the holidays and out of everyone, this is the only house that still has their stuff up. My wife on the other hand, could not care less.

HA! I can top that..my WHOLE town does! We have handpainted holiday banners in our downtown district, and they just started yesterday, March 23rd, to take them down.

Yes, we are in Michigan and it could snow up until April, but to have to look at banners about the 12 Days of Christmas and Christmas trees and snowman in March gets quite annoying. I'm sure it's a manpower and a safety issue...I wouldn't want to get up in those baskets on an extension arm and take them down, either, in cold weather! But it looks SO BAD to see those Partridges in a Pear tree when you drive throw town.

Plus, the main street is a state highway so we have to get state permission to take them down and put them up each time. It was the same way last year, and when it was complained about in the newspaper, everyone got up in arms as it was children who painted the banners. That's nice, but it has nothing to do with the timeliness of the removal of said banners!

I do know of someone here of Romanian descent that every year leave their tree up until about Valentines day; I know it was up past that this year. It might still be up, I'm not sure. This doesn't bother me, as it's a traditional heritage thing for them and its in their home.

But the city ones REALLY bother me! *Poppet*'s Recommendations Christmas Decorating: The Art of Holiday Design Amazon List Price: $24.99 Used from: $14.95 Average Customer Rating: 5.0 out of 5 (based on 3 reviews) .

Some neighbors leave lights up year round. Driving around, few have out of season lawn ornaments. There are some neighbors who leave their Holiday lights up year round.

"Out of season" little white lights do not bother me as much as big old multicolored ones. Driving around, there are a few who have "out of season" lawn ornaments on display. That probably bothers me the most.

Overall though, with an aging population, many elderly seniors are not as able to put them up and take them down as they once were. Likewise, with younger peoples' busier schedules, sometimes being single parents or working second jobs,I understand why many do not get their decorations up and down on a more timely basis. Sometimes the weather just does not cooperate with peoples' plans and schedulesfor putting outdoor holiday decorations up or taking them down.

Ours are down; neither did we put up any this year. Last year, we left some of the little white lights up year round;we took them down to trim the evergreens-hedges over the Summer/Fall. Sources: My personal opinion and professional experience .

There are lights up, yes, but I still see a lot of lights around the neighborhood, but I’ve noticed that every hallmark holiday has lights these day: Valentines day, St. Patty’s day at least. Some may even be Easter lights. I don’t like the practice of eliminating our trees and house so I wish they’d stop.

It doesn't not enhance our community. (Of course, that's one of my main Grinch issue at Christmas time. ) Sources: centsibleholidaylighting.com/store/merch...?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=CHL&Category_Code=STP&gclid=CLXtnY3vj4sCFQyNgAodoVkpQw .

I actually have a wreath that is still up but the thing is so hard to get to. I do have one neighbor who still has up most of their lights but it doesn’t bother me at all. At least they don’t still turn them on every night and they did finally get the plastic snowman out of the yard.

Actually I figure that whatever floats their boat is fine with me so long as a tornado doesn’t happen along and throw their icicle lights onto my house.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
