Always pay off! As we use a credit card for most of our transactions (easy to keep track) we set up a direct debit to ensure that the credit card is cleared every month. Not paying it off would mean that the amount we pay in interest every month/year would be quite large .

As much as I can I try to pay as much as I can. I've cut up most of my cards and I just pay them off every month; I am keeping the Upromise card, since it feeds into my 529 fund. But in general, carrying that debt is so bad for your financial health.

We carry a balance unfortunately. A little over a year ago, we went through a really horrible period of time with my daughter medically. It took several months and several thousand dollars out of pocket to get a diagnosis and treatment for her.

Carrying Debt I didn't understand what credit cards or how they were suppose to be used. Now that I know what they are really meant for, I can't afford to pay what I charged. I bought a lot of useless things and now I am being punished for it for not having any sense.
