Do you support or hate that their building a Mosque near ground zero?

I think we should burn the mosque down. That's where you come in charmander. I choose you Charmander!

Use flamethrower!

Personally, I would rather he didn't. I just learned there is already a Muslim prayer center near ground zero (http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2010... as well as other interfaith community centers. So I question why the community needs another.

It is also in bad judgment to build a new one there when it is obviously and insult and upsetting to the victims families and members of the society (not just New York but as a nation) to push their agenda to prove a point. Lastly, If the Muslim community is so concerned about the end of Ramadan, the holiday Eid al-Fitr, falling on 9/9, 9/10 or possibly 9/11 this year due to their lunar calendar (the Muslim/Islamic dates change because they use a lunar calendar), that they would notify the people of America in advance that they are NOT celebrating 9/11 but rather observing the end of the Ramadan fasting, Eid al-Fitr. If they are this courteous enough and sensitive enough to us to not be offensive, then why is the building of the "community center" even an issue.

See the link I posted below for the Ramadan holiday article. I respect the Muslim community for showing sensitivity in announcing this and educating us as to why some would be having celebrations near this date. If you read more closely-some Muslims will not observe Eid al-Fitr at all and some will remember the victims of 9/11 in their observances.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
