Do you think that with the economy like it is, that people will start losing weight, or gaining more?

By finally allowing yourself to satisfy your cravings without sabotaging your diet, you can keep the weight you lose off for good, saving yourself hundreds and even thousands of dollars in the process Get it now!

I guess it depends on the person, but now that I don't have much money, I tend to make casseroles and meals at home, rather than eat out. Do you think that more people will do this? Or do you think they will just find cheaper places to eat at?

Have you found that you are scrimping and saving and not eating out as much in order to save money and be more frugal? Or do you just order from the dollar menu or go to cheaper restaurants? I think it will be an interesting trend to watch.

I think that people will want to be more frugal. And just maybe that frugality will cause some pounds to shed! Am I just being optimistic?

There are always those who can eat anything and not gain weight. But I think in general people are not eating out as often as they might have before. Our favorite restaurant raised its prices quite a bit so going there is now a special event instead of an eating out on the weekend thing.

Plus eating heathy has always been more costly and that has not changed. It’s quick, easy, and cheaper to feed the children a box of flourescent macaroni and cheese than fresh meat and vegetables. Casseroles heavy on pasta, rice, and potatoes fill the stomach with a large amount of calories and not always a balance in the nutrition department. So as if the thinner wallet wasn’t dictating what would go on the dinner table, the struggling family may also turn to the comfort foods in an attempt to retrieve the feeling of well being that came to their inner child being served lovingly by mom.

The liquor sales have not suffered so obviously you will see some self medicating individuals "drinking" their meals and those folks tend to stay lean. We are trying to eat healthy after a lifetime of indiscriminate choices and find the grocery bill soaring. When we do occaisionally go out it’s certainly isn’t for the dollar menu but for some place that offers healthy choices and prepared in a way we would not or could not at home.

Working at a doctors office it certainly seems to be a trend to see the scale creep up and up, not good news for a country already faced with record numbers of people labeled obese and with Type 2 diabetes on a steady rise also. I too wonder how the final chapter will be written. Sources: personal opinion, my job observations .

The less money one has usually keeps them at home! The less money one has at their disposal tends to keep them at home and what little money they have in the bank, that is if one can trust the banks these days. If people only knew how much money they could save by eating at home even in good times when money is no problem.

I don’t mean they have to give up eating out just less of it. There is a good side to eating at home you can always plan the healthy meal, going out people tend to eat less healthier choosing those tasty unhealthy foods over the more healthy ones. They will pay more for preparation of that food, taxes, waiter, tips, than when they shop and prepare it themselves, it will cost only a third or less if they stayed at home.

I assume most can’t or won’t give up eating out, they can still afford the buffet lines and all you can eats, the other factor that dictates whether one eats at home at all, is can they cook? Most kids in the later 80’s and through the 90’s having everything given them never learned home economics, they do not know how to cook well if at all. When most realize that they can eat at home cheaper, better especially since the money they will keep in the wallet because of no more dining out they can purchase more from the store and eat well and healthier at home.

I believe most will begin to lose weight by staying at home, eating out usually has way too many calories that some people do not take into account, all the drinks along with the meal unless it’s water then there is always desert, got to have that piece of pie. Their monthly shopping lists will or should be reduced as they become frugal, this means less snack foods on the list. These are the most expensive weight gainers on anyone's shopping list.

There will be many becoming more frugal, they will not have a choice. The ones losing jobs, savings and investments being wiped out will force them to pinch their funds. I would say yes most will see weight loss!

Your Optimistic in a good healthy way! .

2 According to news programs fast food joints like McDonalds with dollar menus are doing quite well. Liquor sales are up. Unfortunately this stuff tends to pack on the pounds.

I believe Americans will be gaining weight due to stress and the fact that the cheaper stuff is usually higher in calories than healthier fare.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
