Does anyone care to speculate as to why Askville just took 500 quest coins from me?

I signed in this morning, after checking ALL of my e mails, then saw my total. It looked lower than I remember, but I don't keep track. I wanted to check and here's what it said.

Any ideas? Asked by BrainBuilder_is_gone 55 months ago Similar questions: care speculate Askville 500 quest coins Amazon > Askville.

Some speculation... Perhaps there had been a bug in giving out coins with respect to third-party topics... if you were at most level 1 in a question's asker-defined topics, but somebody added a topic that you were level 3 in, maybe it gave you the level 3 bonus instead of the level 1 bonus. Have you ever answered through mturk? Maybe there is a change of how quest coins are given in an askville account when the question is answered from mturk.

Of course, either of these seems unlikely, since 500 is such a nice round number. It's the exact cost of the Level 2 Voting Authority superpower, and you do have that particular superpower. Do you remember anything odd back from when you purchased that superpower?

Could it be that due to a glitch at the time, you weren't charged for the superpower? .

That is increadibly bizarre I checked my history (because admittedly I have pretty much no idea how many coins I have from day to day) to see if this was one of those wierd blips we see from time to time. It doesn't look like there's anything up with my account. I would (and I'm sure you already have) send them a note and ask what the heck is up.

I'm sure it's just some sort of error on their part. Sources: personal confusion .

Joe, please don't go! I can't believe Askville would do that -- that's total b.s.. I think we should start a petition to get your coins back. In fact, they should give back the coins they took, plus give you 500 more as an apology: "Sorry we penalized you for making Askville a better place for thoughtful, mature people"..

A TOS violation could possibly be the reason for this.

1 Nevermind. I found the e mail. I was fined 500 coins for apparently harrassing someone.

There were no specific details at all. It merely says the content was removed,so that means that I can't even find it. Bye to all of my Askville friends.

I have not harrassed anyone in the recent past and I won't continue to be penalized without specific reasons,or the event explained to me. I'm told next time this happens,my account will be terminated. I'll take the first step and say goodbye.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
