During your Christmas shopping spree, your debit card is declined (due to unknown reasons). Do you quickly reach for your credit card to?

Actually would depend on if I wanted to have to shop again for those items. To save time and effort I'd probably put on credit card ( if I had one! ) but only because I'd want to get the shopping out of the way, I don't get embarrassed by having declined cards or no money, it happens to everyone at some point :) First stop after than is a phone or bank branch to find out what the hell is going on with my debit card!

Call the bank from the counter and resolve the issue. This has happened to me and it got resolved. Next choice, if you know you have the funds, use the card and PAY it with the funds you know you have...

Our account is set up so that you can use the debit card or write a check so I would just write a check instead. It's happened to me several times. It was slightly embarrassing the first time, but it happens more often this time of year so, I got over it.

I don't have a credit card, nor do I carry large quantities of cash, so I'd be forced to go track down the source of the problem and come back for the gifts later. This has actually happened to me, though. I was trying to buy gas (now THAT was awkward!) Fortunately, I was able to call a relative.

It turns out that my debit card had expired, and the new card the bank sent never arrived in the mail. The whole thing was resolved within a few hours, but it was definitely scary. I know I'd be calling the bank as soon as I got a chance.

You may have deposited funds and they just haven't cleared your account yet, but I'd check my bank statement online when I got home just to be sure. I'd probably go for the credit card because I normally don't buy something unless I've put some serious thought into it first. I'm a tightwad. My credit card offers cash back and is auto-drafted out of my checking account so I won't be tempted to abuse it.

It's all about controlling my money rather than having it control me.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
