I would not try to pick off the fleas one by one. Visit your vet and ask them to prescribe you either Revolution, or the new pill version of flea control. According to my vet, fleas have developed resistance to Advantage and Frontline, so try to stay away from those.
Once you have the meds, wash your dog in a flea killing shampoo, then apply the medicine. The next part is the suckiest...you have to treat your environment. Depending on how bad the flea infestation is, you might have to bug bomb your home.At the minimum, you need to wash your dog's bed, your sheets if the dog sleeps with you, vacuum thoroughly and basically scrub clean anything the fleas could have jumped to.
Not fun, but not as bad as having fleas all over the place.
If you see one flea there are likely hundreds more... picking them off doesn't remove the eggs, so don't bother. Focus on spraying the house and washing the dog with products made to remove fleas!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
