Republicans argue that the military is one of the few constitutionally proscribed expenditures that the government undertakes, and they're partially correct. The problem is that the GOP also supports all sorts of programs that aren't constitutional even when a loose standard is applied, so not only do I question how concerned they are about constitutionality, but I also question how concerned they are with fiscal responsibility. Don't get me wrong.
I am not taking the Democrats' side. They're even worse. Much worse, in fact.
I just think the defense budget is bloated and that the military suffers from the bureaucracy that every other government department does. Defense needs to be cut, in addition to Social Security, welfare, Medicare, etc.
Sorry, nothing is off limits. I'm sure that there is spending that is redunant and wasteful in the Defense Department as well.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
