Have you ever fed your cat Felidae, Newman's Own or similar dry cat food?

My cat has been eating Purina One Urinary Tract Health dry food for several years so I thought it was time to re-evaluate her food. BTW, she barfs wet food.In taste tests, she seems to like the Newman's Own a little better than Felidae. I found this website for rating cat food and I was really surprised by the results!

Glad you are doing research and upgrading the food. It is important! Dry "junk food" is a major culprit in feline health issues, the most common of which seems to be urinary tract problems.

I have 5 cats. I try to make canned food the staple of their diet to prevent health problems. Have you tried spreading canned food on a plate so that your cat has to lick it up slowly?

This could prevent regurgitating the food. My cats showed no interest in the Newman's Own or Felidae. They will eat Wellness and two of them will eat Innova.(referring to dry foods of all these brands) These foods are all expensive, but usually cats eat less of the good quality foods that are high in meat protein than the poor quality foods that contain lots of grains and by-products, so in the long-run, the cost isn't as significant as it first appears.

Also vet bills should decrease! None of my current 5 cats (three 12 year old siblings, 1 male, 2 female; and two 2 year olds, 1 male, 1 female) has had a urinary tract or barfing problem, and all of them have lovely, soft shiny coats. They won't eat the best quality canned food.

They eat Fancy Feast. If I'd known better sooner, I would have fed them only premium quality canned food, but all are doing well on Fancy Feast canned and Wellness and Innova dry food. I think you are making the right choice by upgrading to a meat-based, good quality food.

If you don't already have one, I would also suggest buying a Drinkwell pet fountain. They are expensive, but they encourage the cat to drink with a constant flow of water. This is very important to cats that are consuming primarily dry cat food..

Our cats used to eat Felidae More recently they have eaten other things, like Fromm Solid Gold. I have not seen the "Newman's Own" brand cat food, but after seeing that Newman's Own Lemonade is made with I have stopped assuming that that line of products is really all-natural and wholesome. When I was young, we had a cat live nearly 21 years on a foundation diet of purina, and meow mix.

Iams and Science diet used to be reputable brands, but as they have stepped up production for mass marketing, they, too, have increased the amount of fillers they use. If you want to be sure you are feeding your cat the best food, find an independent pet supply store. (sometimes it is your local pet groomer, and if not, they can probably refer you to a good one) you can expect to pay more than for supermarket brands, though not necessarily as much as Vet prices for science diet.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
