I'm sorry the staff was rude, and I won't make excuses for them, but they can see your ankle and I can't. The pain may be perfectly normal; you did a lot of damage and it will take time to heal. But there's no way to know if it's normal or not without looking at it, and seeing as the consequences are pretty severe if something wrong goes untreated, you need to go back ASAP.
