How do I become a National Geographic photojournalist?

It is possible but not likely to get a job as a National Geographic Photographer. Before you would ever be considered you would need to complete an assignment for them as a freelance photographer. Most people find their way on to the staff by being an accomplished photojournalist.

They do have other jobs available and sometimes offer internships for college juniors and seniors. You do not have to have a photography or journalism degree but it is high unlikely you would secure a position without one. Technical universities like the Rochester Institute of Technology, California Polytechnic State University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology offer programs that may offer more career choices in Photography than a BFA.

For example RIT offers a program in Imaging Sciences and Color Science. Credentials from schools like this would help in achieving your goals. You should also start building a portfolio of images that you consider to be National Geographic quality.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
