What type of photography is used in National Geographic magazine?

National Geographic uses a lot of different types of photography in their magazine and on their website. The different types of photography used depend on the article or story they support. If they are covering an article on Lions they will contract with the best wildlife photographers.

If the article is about crop circles they will turn to an aerial photography expert. They use both staff photographers and contract or freelance photographers for assignments. They do many articles on sea life and so they use a lot of underwater photography in some issues and in some issues may not have any.

The types of photographs are always determined by the editorial concept behind each issue. Their website has a lot of free materials including wallpapers for download. Check out the link below to search the wallpaper by type.
