I am REALLY stupid when it comes to this. Do I need a splitter from the antenna to the box as my DVD does not have a coaxial cable hole. Please help, I have tried every thing.
I have an antenna plugged to the DTV converter, the red, white, yellow wires on both ends plugged to tv and dvd, and the coaxial wire plugged to the tv, does it need to be on a special channel, I have looked at the book and STILL can't figure this out! I found an answer using answerbug. Com I googled "How do I hook-up DVD to DTV converter box to cable ready tv? " (link provided below) The first result was for the above question that was posted on askville.com.
I went with the second result, link provided below. It was from answerbag.com. Here is the step by step instructions:Things You’ll Need:HDTV converter boxAnalog televisionTelevision antennaAudio/Video cordStep 1:Unpack the entire contents of the HDTV converter box and make sure all parts are included.
Step 2:Turn the television off and unhook the antenna from the analog television set. It should be connected with a white or black coaxial cable at the "cable TV in" port. Step 3:Connect the television antenna to the HDTV converter box at the "antenna in" port on the back.
Step 4:Use your own audio/video cords if you have them for easy installation on televisions with A/V input jacks. Step 5:Plug the color coded A/V cord into the designated outlet for each color on the back of the converter box. Step 6:Plug the other end of the A/V cord into the designated colored jack in the "video in" port.
If there is more than one "video in" port on the back of the television. Use whichever you like, but plug all three cord ends into the same jack line. Step 7:Use the short coaxial cable included with most HDTV converter boxes if there are no audio/video jacks on the back of the television.
Attach one end of the coaxial cable in to the jack you disconnected the antenna from and the other in to the jack labeled "output to TV" on the back of the converter box. Step 8:Set up the new remote control to control the volume and channels of the television through the new HDTV converter box. The remote controls will all differ slightly, but should come with a programming list of codes for televisions.
Follow the remote control instructions for proper set up and programming. If there were no instructions included, go to the web site of the manufacturer or return the converter box. Tips & WarningsChances are installing a new HDTV converter box on your television will bring some new channels already only broadcasting in but you will lose some that are not.
Using a Smart Antenna can take care of this problem. Always unplug electronics before installing new parts. You will love this turorial, it has pictures! DVD TO TV Most DVD players do not have RF outputs. DVD players typically provide composite, S-video or component video output.
You need to use your TV's audio/video inputs to connect the RCA cables coming from the DVD player's audio/video outputs. When connected, switch your TV to the proper video source input to watch a DVD movie. If you only have one audio/video input on your TV, and it is already used, you will need an audio/video switch (Radio Shack has different models).
If your TV has an S-video input, try to get a switcher that also has S-video connections. If your TV does not have audio/video inputs you will have to use an RF modulator (Radio Shack #15-1244 or equivalent) that converts the line level video signals into RF signals that you can then view on channel 3 or 4 of your TV. If you only have one RF input on your TV then you will need an A/B switch also.
This will allow both RF devices to share the single TV input. Some DVD specific RF modulators have a built in A/B Switch to auto-switch. http://www.geocities.com/columbiaisa/tv_dvd_vcr_hookup.htmAnd another here:Connect DTV converter with VCR, TV, DVD, A/V ReceiverThis connection involves two Digital to Analog TV converter boxes to two VCRs, a TV set, a DVD player, an Audio Recorder and an Audio Video Receiver.

"If you purchased your DVD recorder in 2007 or 2008,then it should have a ATSC(/HDTV) tuner built-in,or you should have been cautioned that it did not. Several retailers have had to pay FCC finesfor selling older equipment with NTSC tunerswithout properly informing the consumers. Your old set-up before was probably:Outdoor antenna ==>> DVD recorder (with NTSC?
Tuner) ==>> NTSC televisionAfter purchasing an ATSC (DTV converter) tuner, then you apparently connected it:Outdoor antenna ==>> splitter ==>> ATSC(/HDTV) tuner ==>> televisionV====>>===============^to add your DVD recorder, then it should be:Outdoor antenna ==>> ATSC(/HDTV) tuner ==>> DVD recorder ==>> NTSC television-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------if not what are my options? If you want to record and watch the same show, then the above set-up will work. I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
