I've got the same problem. Products weigh it down, and I can never get it to look the same was as the hairdresser did. My hair does have some natural wave so I try to take advantage of that and usually just let it do what it wants and finish the ends with a curling iron.
You can add a bit of natural volume this way: lean forward (head down) and brush from the hairline to the crown, roots all the way to the ends. Flip your head backwards and then smooth your hair down with a wide comb or pick, go lightly so you don't pull the volume back out. Sometimes I'll spray the comb with hairspray first for a bit of frizz control without too much weight.
This is a problem the world over for woman, my advice is to speak to your hairdresser ask how to get hold of the shampoo and conditioners products they use on your hair any hairdresser worth their salt wants their clients to feel good all the time, you will probably find it is also the way they dry your hair do they seem to lift your hair straight up from the root when drying using a round brush, if so this is difficult to recreate at home, I have a few clients who now use large velcro rollers depending on the length of their hair they are easy to use your hair doesn't need to be wet to use them either you can put a little hairspray ont he root and then put the rollers in for 10 mins to give natural root lift. You also need to consider that if your hair is fine most cream conditioners and mousses will be to heavy for it so it actually pulls the hair down from the root leaving it lank and lifeless, change from cream conditioner to a spray in conditioner as it is a lot lighter, look for mousses that are specifically designed for fine hair, Ketrastise is an expensive brand but lasts a life time and it is great for fine hair I will give you a link, but speak to your hairdresser they know your hair and should have no problem helping you maintain your salon look at home if hey do find a new hairdresser. Also if you are buying products to use plz plz plz follow manufacturer guide lines to the letter or you may as well put your money down the drain.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
