How much would a wedding cost at Tavern on the Green, for 250 people with all amenities in summer of 08'?

What I would do is call Tavern on the Green and ask prices from the wedding coordinator. You can get a general idea of what it will cost you. Being a New Yorker, I know it will cost you quite a bit.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
