Overtorquing of the valve cover bolts if it's an aluminum block. They get to hot and expand and tweaks the gasket. You could have a coolant problem as well.
Good luck! .
Thanks! I had a mechanic replace the gasket cover all 3 times , can the overtorquing be fixed just by looseing up the valve cover bolts? Auntyof5 4 months ago .
I would think that if a mechanic was torquing it then he/she should have been torquing according to specs. Hmmmmmmmm .
I think I would be asking my mechanic what his reason is for having to do that so many times. He should have known already honestly.
Ive been told that the first two gasket covers that were replaced had unknown cracks in them due to a manufacturing defect in the cover. The third time it happened they used a different manufacturer and said that I was all set. They apologized and didn't charge me .
They fixed it for free twice but now 2 months later I am noticing oil leaks again. My oil was low last week so I refilled it wiht 2 quarts. I also can smell oil burning when I shut off the car.Im starting to think that I have a much bigger problem than a cracked gasket cover but I am too embarrassed to go back to the same place.
Im afraid that they will discover the real problem and over charge me since they worked for "free" the last 2 visits. Any other suggestions as to what could be causing this? Auntyof5 4 months ago .
Oh wow, so I assume you're female! I hate how men treat us at a garage! Assume we know NOTHING.
I just talked to my boyfriend, who does all the work on our vehicles and he said to let him know the make and model and he will check into it for you.
Oh I just noticed in your first post it is a 2001 Toyota Camry LE, DUH! I am checking with him for you and will get back to ya! .
I found some other people talking about this here, check it out............ justanswer.com/toyota/2csfm-2001-toyota-... html.
Look at RAFALS answer at this site..........makes me wonder if it's STRICTLY a Toyota Camry LE problem! townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.e... .
Hmmm. Wow! Maybe a manufacturing problem I should check the recalls.
I cant thank you enough for all your great help. Youve been great! Auntyof5 4 months ago .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
