Tallchai. Did you restart the router and the second PC after the installation process was run? .

The installation process stops after the router isnt detected. I can try to restart the router and PC though. Tallchai 11 months ago .

That sounds like a problem I had with a NetGear router. Can the second device see the network? Is there an issue with the distance between the router and the second device - meaning is it our of range?

...oops, that should have said "out of range".

Well, it hasnt moved since the computer was taken and wiped completely so nothing has changed so it shouldnt be out of range now... Everything is still set up the same. Tallchai 10 months ago .

Maybe you could retrace your steps and see what's gone wrong.

Hmm thats a possibility. How would I go about access that? Its possible that when it was restored to factory settings the computer turned that switch off.

Go to Network Connections and then Wireless Networks. Can you see if one was ever established? Can you see a wireless adapter?

Something like 11b/g/n Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Express Adapter II. What OS are you running and do you have the original instructions for adding devices to the network? .

Yes a wireless network is established it says. It always says connected, but it's not sending nor receiving anything. But it doesn't say anything like 11b/b/g/n.

I am running XP, and no I don't have anything for the computer, Its a bit old so I think everything has gotten lost in my house. Also thank you so much for all your help so far! Tallchai 10 months ago .

You're welcome TC. In WinXP you should see a wireless icon down in the system tray (bottom right of your screen). Click on that and you'll see a General and Support tab.

The General tab should display the name of the Wireless network and whether or not you are connected. It also has a button named View Wireless Networks and selecting that will tell you if the PC can see the wireless network or not. If it sees the network but is not connected to it then click on the Support tab.

The Support tab wil list your Address Type (DHCP) and display the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway. Those should all display the information from your wireless networt. There is a Repair button under all that, click on it and windows will try to resolve the connection problem.

If it can't you should take out the wireless installation instructions and go through the process again. BTW, what make/model is the wireless router? .

BTW, the easiest thing to do is to connect the second PC to your network using ethernet.

Its a Linksys by Cisco. Model WRT160N V3. I will try that.

But it say it cannot repair because it can't locate the network. I have it plugged in with an ethernet cord. Its set up the same as it was before I rebooted the computer so my computer im on now is the main computer.

And even though it's connected and its lit up on my router it won't recognize that its there. Its so frustrating. Tallchai 10 months ago .

You've either missed a step in the set up process or something failed. Check out the FAQ section of the LinkSys/Cisco support website. It gives you some tips on troubleshooting this device or installing devices.

Note the tab for XP, you'll want to click on that. homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/wireless/lbc... Have you had the PC connected to the internet since you restored factory settings? You may want to move it where you can connect it to the internet (via Ethernet) and run Windows Update on it.

You may have some driver and other updates than need to be applied. Com/en-us/wireless/lbc/WRT160N.

No it has no connected to the internet. Good point. It won't even connect with the Ethernet cord.

Ohhh. Well you need a wireless adapter or PCMCIa card. I am not sure what your PC can handle.

Does it have a USB slot? Mspx.

I have a wireless adapter. I tried that too. It knows the internet is there, it just won't connect to it.

I have my PS3 down there too and it connects wirelessly no problem and its right by my computer. Tallchai 10 months ago .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
