I often feel tired during the day despite getting plenty of sleep. What can I do to feel more energetic?

The Best Meditation Course on the internet. This online home study course is a fully multi-media program which comes with superb instructional videos and is taught by master meditator Anmol Mehta. Get it now!

Exercise is probably part of it, but you should also see a nutritionist. Odds are good that there's something in your diet that's causing it.

I always feel more energetic when I go for a 30 minute walk or jog in the morning. It just sets me up for the day! Also, drinking lots of water gives me a natural pick-me-up.

Hope this helps :-).

I have heard that having a daily regimen of at least 15 minutes of exercise a day will keep your energy level up.

You may have thyroid issues. See a doctor to get your blood levels checked.

I have struggled with this issue for years. I have fibromyalgia. What happens is even though I sleep, I wake up constantly at night--even when I don't realize it.

That takes a toll on your body and you feel exhausted, in pain, grumpy--etc. All day, every day. I started taking a lot of vitamin B12, three times a day and it helped me more than anything I've tried. I take (talk to your doctor for large dosing, of course) 3000 mcg, three times a day.

Morning, noon and at night. I spread it out during the day so I don't just pee the excess out. If I took it all at once I'd pee bright yellow.

When I stop taking it, I feel the same crappy feeling I always have. I eat plenty of meat and other natural B12 foods. Maybe I can't absorb B12 efficiently?

This may be a bandaid because there has to be a reason good eating habits aren't working for me.

I take Multi-Vitamins, Vitamin D, Calcium. I eat a lot of salads as a meal with Shrimp, Ham or Chicken. I also use other seafood in my salads.

I eat a Red Delicious Apple every day, and I drink Ice Water mostly. And if I did not do this, I would not have any energy. I hope you feel energetic soon.

Life is too short to feel this way. You might need to see your doctor for a check up. Take Care.Bobbi.

Couple of things to check: depression-check with your doctor to examine any symptoms sleep apnea-check the symptoms, see your doc. For a sleep test.

I wake up at 5:30 and walk for 45 minutes in the morning. Come back, shower, have breakfast, feed the dog, and go to work. It works beautiful!

Feeling energetic is a function of our mind and body. For example many people are alert and proficient throughout the day while getting only 4-5 hours of sleep while others may be tired and lethargic while getting 8 hours or more. The point is although sleep is important the mind and body play critical factors in determining how energetic we feel.By having a positive and less stressful state of mind we tend to feel more energetic regardless of the numbers of hours we sleep.

Having a purposeful anticipation of the upcoming and ongoing goals of the day triggers our mind to produce more energy. In other words, our state of mind tends to influence our energy levels. In terms of our physical body, it’s important to improve overall health. This would include exercise and nutrition.

Eat a healthy and nutritious diet that fits your body type.In addition, working out in some capacity to keep more physically fit will go a long way toward helping to feel more energetic. Hope this helps :-).

If yes and still not feeling energetic its time to visit a doctor.

Seek a medical professional's advice. I too was feeling tired for most of the day despite getting plenty of sleep. I tried caffeine overload and exercise.

Until our company doctor told me I have thyroid problem which made me feel lethargic and moody.

It depends on reason why you feel tired. With assumption that you don't have any serious diseases, I know 2 frequent reasons of it: first is low blood pressure and second is lack of water. Low blood pressure is not serious disease, it can be your body feature, or it can be because of significant changes in weather. To feel better you should increase your blood pressure.

What helps:1. Coffee or strong sweet black tea2. Physical activities or even very good visualization of doing it3.

Salty food4. Course of special supplements which contain ginseng or eleutherococcusIf you live in region with hot and dry climate, or it is just very warm day, you may suffer lack of water, then:1. Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.

Important note: it is much better to do very little sips.2. Drink special electrolyte drinks, which works faster.

You are probably not relaxed enough -- sleep does not automatically mean relaxing. The fast yet effective way to relax and sleep at the same time is, in my personal opinion, listening to brainwave audios. These audios do more than simply putting you to sleep -- they really relax you mentally by inducing proper brainwaves.

There are hubs on this topic, including mine. You may read my hub: hubpages.com/hub/Brain-Wave-Entrainment-... your own decision.

Check whether your diet is balanced. Get regular exercise and fresh air. Think about a multivitamin.

Maybe get your bloods checked-low in iron?

Keep a food journal and see how you feel after eating different foods. Sometimes what we eat can put more strain on our digestion system which takes alot of energy out of us.

Mine was blood pressure. Had it checked, got on medicine and it got better. Also dropped a bit of weight and got off the medicine completely.

Low iron can cause tiredness, dizziness and lack of motivation, but nothing a course of iron tablets won't sort out if this is what you have :).

LOL...sleeping too much makes our body feel heavy..its not good to sleep too much..we need to have a proper diet...too much sleeping can cause us stroke..we need to balance our sleep every day..

Exercise is key in fending off tiredness. But I wonder if you are drinking enough water? Chronic dehydration can make anyone tired.

The funny thing is that sometimes you can be dehydrated and not know it.

Try a sublingual (the kind that melts under your tongue) B12 supplement. The sublingual method allows the vitamin to go into your bloodstream and surpass the digestive system, that way you get 100% of the vitamin and non is wasted! =) If you're really serious...there is a B-12 shot...but...sublingual is actually better, in my opinion.

Also, exercise (although it sounds exhausting), is a free and healthy alternative that actually helps to give you energy. I have to start exercising regularly for a couple different reasons, but one being I have NO energy and always feel so tired no matter how much sleep I get. Exercising (I just do 30 minutes on a treadmill, walking or running, depending on how my knees feel that day) will benefit you in so many areas of wellness, too!

=) If you're a student, get on a treadmill with study material or an ipod to help time go by. Also, watch your diet...If you're eating a lot of junky fast food, that is a MAJOR reason why you may be lacking energy. I am always on-the-go and understand the need for something fast, so it is really hard to find fast-foods without relying on fast food places.

I try to incorporate a few fruits into my diet every day, a bag of apple slices, or something, and usually drink a V8 drink with a full serving of fruits and veggies. Snacking (on something somewhat healthy, please) will also help control your appetite so that when you sit down to eat, you're not eating a HUGE meal that causes you to be sleepy for a long amount of time. There are some great teas you can look into to give you energy.

Green tea is very good for you and has 0 calories! =).

Dehydration can make you feel drained. So can too much caffeine. If you're drinking a lot of coffee or soda try cutting back.

Start replacing caffeine with water. You'll feel a lot better.

Exercise. I know that doesn't sound like that would work or maybe you're thinking that you're too tired to exercise but if you can get in the mode for just even a half hour or so of some type of activity to get your heart and blood pumping you'd be amazed at the amount of added energy that you gain from exercising. Take a multi vitamin with iron as well.. that should help with the fatigue a bit if you're anemic.

I wish you the best with this.

I've felt like that a lot over the years. Things to try:1. Eat small amounts of protein (nuts, hard boiled eggs, meat) throughout the day.2.

Drink more water3. Eliminate foods to which you are sensitive: for me, it's gluten. Common intolerances are to gluten, dairy, soy.

Good luck! You can also check to see if you are low on B12 or iron.

Dehydration contributes to a lack of energy, as well as weight gain. Also, are you getting enough B vitamins?

Check your diet, eat food with a lot of protein and balance it with carbohydrates, also take vitamin and exercise that should help you feel better.

Exercise and diet are the keys to energy. Also setting a regular time routine so that you go to sleep and get up at the same time every day. Also schedule your meals at the same time.

I've got the same problem and it turns out that I have an allergy. Now I'm much more relaxed then before. Try to exercise, change diet can help too...And get some rest - maybe 2 or 3 days of work will help?

Sounds more like your depressed. If you tried all of the above suggestions, workouts, food, sleep, etc. , and there's no change, then try raising your fun factor. Take a break, do things that make you really happy.

If it still doesn't change things the only other course is your doctor for some--happy pills!

Vitamin D is an awesome help when you're lacking energy. Good luck!

Although there are many different reasons for this, here is my opinion in a hub I wrote which I hope you find helpful! hubpages.com/hub/tiredness_all_the_timeLove and blessings, Caroline xxx.

I find that when I'm eating a healthy, plant-based diet, cutting out meat, breads, and sugars, I feel great and have tons of energy. I also need less sleep. I can also say that the times in my life when I've been active, I've also felt great.

It is possible that you are suffering from mild depression. See the bright side in things. If not, then try little things like exercise.

People will say 10-15minutes a day but that isn't even enough to start the fat loss cycle, and so not as many endorphins are released during the process. It will work, but twenty minutes minimum would be better. Get out for walks and stuff like that, try to read a book before you sleep.

You could basically attempt everything you hear about, providing it doesn't make you worse. What ever you do, don't stress yourself out! This symptom can also be a bi-product of stress.

Quite often a person can be getting all the hours of sleep they should, but still wake up tired. Most often a person who has this problem needs to see a sleep specialist who will have you wear a monitor through the night to determine what your sleep hours are really like. A lot of people suffer from Sleep Apnea, which is easily treated once identified.

I'd suggest talking to your doctor about this possibility, and get it checked out. Not sleeping properly can rob you of many good years of healthy living. I hope this helped.

When I was feeling like this I found I was lacking vitamin D. I sit in the sun a few minutes a day if it's out and I take a talet for it every few days. Also I find if you are sitting down all day you feel more tired and sluggish so get up and move around when you can :).

Exercise is a great start, but a lack of nutrition might be a problem also. Try taking a daily vitamin.

3pm is a low time for everyone in a day. First eat breakfast in the morning if you eat nothing else all day. Second try to eat lunch and a low fat one.

Third get plenty of exercise and drink plenty of water druin the week and finally if all else fails a caffiene drink (coffee, tea or soda) will usually do the trick but be prepared to crash early in the evenings.

Sleeping is one thing, quality sleep is another. Having a physcial may help resolve this. Things that interrupt sleep.

Many of us do not realize that anything is going on. AsthmaAllergiesSnoringMuscle SpasmOld mattress that needs to be replacedSleep apneaHeart conditionAnemiaChronic Fatigue SyndromeSleep disorders.

My mother had been going through a similar situation lately. She felt lethargic throughout the day despite taking rest. One of her doctors then suggested a drinkable injection of Vitamin D.

With just one dose, her condition has improved. You have to wait at least 2 weeks before you give second dose of the injection.

I would suggest trying the Paleo diet for 30 days. You do not eat any grains and only grass-fed meat. I don't suggest it for the "fad-diet" reason, but because it will strip your body of most food allergens.

After 30 days, you can start adding back grains and heavy amounts of dairy. Keep a journal of how each makes you feel. You may have a gluten or lactose allergy.

I also agree with others that believe you should try moderate levels of exercise. Are you using tobacco? Often time are bodies become so addicted to the stimulant side of tobacco that one can feel tired when they are not using.

I felt the same way. By Wednesday I was beat! My doctor suggested Ester C.It levels out all your body is missing.

I tried it and though it takes about a week to feel the difference, it REALLY WORKS! I live by it.It will not be as effective if you take it in another - like a vitamin but, by itself. The bottle is dark blue and the label is orange you can find it at any Rite Aid, CVS or other pharmacy store.

I take 2 1,000 milligrams and it does it for me. Even my husband takes it too and it works for him as well. Hope you Feel Better Soon!

Try 30 minutes of exercise four times a week and cut down on the caffeine and sugar.

Wow. So Many possibilities.1. Some people need more sleep than others.2.

You may be taking medication that makes you drowsy. Whether prescription or OTC check for side effects. If taking more than 1 check for interaction.3.

Adding exercise increases energy level. Exercising in the morning is the best. Most people get a 2-3 hour blast of energy.

Exercise also helps you sleep deeper.4. Examine your food intake (times, quantity and mix). Even if you are fine with your weight (and this could also be a possible energy drain) consuming inadequate amounts of protein or too much simple carbs can cause energy crashes.5.

Does the crash come at the same time daily? If so, consider a caffeine blast (coffee, tea, cola) 6. Check with your MD about sleep apnea.

Tiredness is one of the symptoms of some diseases like diabetes, anemia, hypothyroidism, side effects of some medicines. Its better to see a doctor for better discussion of this diseases. As of now,try yoga and meditation to energize your mind and body, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, have a balanced diet and avoid processed foods.

Moderation in everything you do and yes try pranayam that is some breathing routines like Bhasrika ,Kapalbhati and Anulom Vilom. Trust me you will feel much better.

The more exercise I get, the more energy I have, as long as it's exercise I enjoy. It works even better when I have have inspiring and energy inducing music to listen to while I'm at it. When I maintain a routine of this (and I have for a long while now), I have more energy, I sleep better, and mentally I stay more focused and my thoughts are much more positive.

1. Sleep less - sleeping more can sometimes hurt. Although it is required after a long wedding or party.2.

Exercise - exercise makes your day so much better. Exercise after you wake up. Never before you sleep or at night.

That is the time you rest, that is the time you're backbone is contracting, that is the time you have already wasted most of your energy etc. Etc.3. Balanced Diet - very important thing here. Make sure you are eating a balanced diet.

Eat a few red apples.4. The Way You Sleep - not just talking about your position but also the colors of your room, the time you go to bed, where you sleep, what do you do just before sleeping. You may want to sleep around with 2 or 3 pillows, with a medium-core mattress.

Don't pick too soft or too hard.5. Illness - do you suffer from depression? This could be a symptom.6.

Be Happy - being happy will eliminate depression another thing that bring your whole life down. Do something fun!7. Take A Week Off - do you feel better after that?

Decrease stress from work etc.

I had the same problem and I started taking Omega 3 tablets and B-Complex Vitamins (50mg). I feel a lot better now. Consentinowww.petsareagift.com.

There are alot of answers and I read most of them. If I missed this answer, sorry. But, have you considered getting checked for sleep apnea?

This condition causes you to stop breathing for several seconds while you sleep, which results in you waking up (often with out realizing it). People with sleep apena often feel tired after a full nights sleep. If your family or partner complains about your snoring, that is a sign of sleep apnea.

Eat a healthy diet and drink plenty of water. You need to make sure you are getting the rda of all the vitamins and nutrients as well as enough protein and calories for your activity level.

If you are physically fit and healthy , is their any worry or a situation that is at the back of your mind ,perhaps you are not aware of it that is manifesting itself.

Exercise, the more oxygen you get into your body the better it is for you. Also depending on what you eat, and how often you eat. Try your best to eat small snacks throughout the day instead of 2 or 3 large meals.

You'll feel more energized. Also keep drinking fluids because you need to keep hydrated or else you'll be tired as wel..

According to my first priority i. E, Exercise if you do exercise in daily routine then you will be as good as you want to be. And on the other hand I will suggest some calcium and multivitamins along with your exercise.

They will definitely keep your fresh and healthy.

Exercise more. Are you a smoker? Smoking can make you feel tired.

Energy levels generally relate to nutrition, physical activity, mood and sleep. Assuming that you do not have a medical condition such as anaemia, diabetes or thyroid disease, I find that exercise is the best energy booster. Over-exercising will only lead to more tiredness.

Daily moderate intensity activity provides the best benefits for energy levels, and I find that yoga (Power Yoga) works well for me. Drink plenty of fluids and eat low GI foods with protein to keep the energy levels constant. Avoid caffeine and stimulants completely and cut out all sugars.

Boosting mood is important, and maybe you would find meditation helpful. A general B complex multivitamin and Vitamin C also provide good all round nutritional benefit.

Take vitamins every day and you will notice a difference after a couple of days. I noticed a huge difference in about 3 days.

Drink more water. Just 5% of dehydration can make you 30% less productive and make you feel sluggish. By the time you feel thirsty, you are already dehydrated.

I have the same problem. Come to find out I'm anemic. It's when you have low iron.

If you get your iron levels checked and they are low, you should start taking iron pills. You will see a dramatic difference in your energy.

Exercise and cut down on carbs especially at lunch. I used to practically fall asleep after lunch until I switched to salad and protien.

Exercise, that will pump Oxygen in your body and mind and you will feel more alive...All other things are weed out like depression, etc etc etc when you feel that you have achieved something. Also it might also be because you don't feel you are in control of your life. Take control and see what your are doing with your life and what you want to do with your life.

You only get one, unless you are a Buddhist, then you have 8, even then you may not come back as a human next time. Probably as a snail or a tree. You are the driving force of your life.

Remember that...

You should do ... (though I am also lazy but do not feel tired)# Exercise (Stretching should be part of it). # Drink plenty of water and fluid. # Add fresh fruits and green vegetable.

# Maintain your sleeping routing properly (Best is 09:30 PM to 04:30 AM)Do it for 15 days and you will feel the change ...

Hmm... I had this problem as well and I found a good breakfast usually keeps spirits up.

Methamphetamine can give a quick boost but the faces paint a different story...Water is key, try kangen. For a mental refresh try "floating"(sensory deprivation tank) for a crash course in meditation. Do some research on cortisol and relate it to your life...stress kills.

Exercise..by experience that feeling tired when you get a lot of sleep is caused by excess energy. I'm not sure if it has a scientific explanation. I feel a lot better after some rounds of jogging and a cool bath.

Eat almonds or any other crunchy healthy snacks.

You might want to seek a medical opinion. However, I can give some advice from experience:Exercising (especially aerobics) will provide enough endorphins to make you feel energized and great throughout the rest of your day. Changing your diet can change your energy.

Mix up the colors of your fruits and veggies. I like rotating fruits, such as pineapples, kiwi, tomatoes, apples, blueberries, strawberries, and more. Veggies, such as carrots with dip, and assortment of sauteed peppers, broccoli with spinach dip (if you can't take broccoli raw), etc.Can spur some energy.

Also, make sure that you have enough protein to keep you energized. Soy, nuts, and eggs hold a lot of protein for vegetarians. However, meats also contain proteins for omnivores.

Beware of meats, though, due to all of those additives and chemicals that animals are forced to eat, which could lead to negative health effects. I hope this helps. Besides that information, increasing lighting, and having a positive outlook on life can work wonders!

When that happens to me, my iron is low. Have your doctor run blood work. It could be everything from needing some B12 to needing to add 15 minutes of exercise to your daily schedule -- even if it's just a brisk walk.

Good luck!

You may want to talk to your doctor about melatonin supplementation and or reduce emf sources in your sleeping area. Strong research indicates that non-ionizing (non-heating) radiation from source like cellphones and wifi can influence the pineal gland in the brain to stop the production of melatonin, which we need for deep, restful, recuperative sleep. electromagnetichealth.org/audio-archives-an - Duddy.

Probably lacking fitness. Start with taking a weekend off for real rest. After that , make sure you exercise your body everyday. It depends on your schedule and the kind of exercise you might like.

Jogging will do for me. Eat plenty of fruits also.

Relax your mind before you sleep so you won't feel tired & be more energized!

Exercise! I know it is hard and time consuming and the last thing you want to do after a long day at work but it will boost your energy level and you will feel greatAlso try to eat well ie lots of fruits and vegetables and nuts to get all your required vitamins naturally. (without counting on supplements)Also, if you live in a warm country, try to get 5 minutes of sun.

Apparently it helps.

Check you iodine level and thyroid. Low thyroid and iodine deficiency can be the reason for your problem.

Good day! I think one thing I can advise you is Fern-C. Just simply try it and you'll feel how it works for you.

I've tried it for real and it's quite okay. For more details, feel free to ask me. :).

Sleep less and excercise. I use to be the same. Just felt I didn't have enough energy to excercise too.

I started waking up at 4:15 (which was like punishment initially) to go to gym. After about 3 weeks of enduring, I started feeling better rested even though I was getting less sleep in reality. I now hate missing gym, because the days I miss it, I feel tired and bothered.

I used to suffer the same tiredness and spoke to my dietician about it. He suggested I was eating too many food items containing sugar and not enough containing protein - especially the first meal of the day: breakfast. I now have a small piece of cheese with my breakfast and it has made a huge difference.

Try it - it might work for you too.

Eat carbs. Quicky energy means quick carbs like sugar. Long lasting energy means slow carbs like beans or oats.

I used to often have the same problem but over the years I have noticed there can be several contributors to having energy issues. If you are eating improperly or drinking heavily these can be two major reasons why you are experiencing this problem. Don't eat late at night or just before bed and eat a healthy meal.

Try having grilled chicken or fish and fresh vegetables as opposed to canned veggies or processed meat. Exercising is also great. Go for a short early morning or evening walk and do a short cycle of different style exercise such as sit ups or other stretch routines in the morning.

Also stretching for ten minutes daily helps get your arteries opened up helping the blood flow this is also good for preventing heart attacks. Try taking at least a multi vitamin and a vitamin C daily and avoid caffeine. Instead of coffee have a glass of cranberry, orange, apple or grapefruit juice.

After your morning stretch and/or walk eat a healthy breakfast such as oats or a high fiber cereal a good breakfast is always great for not only your energy level but also for brain function. After eating and exercising have a nice warm shower this will open your pores making you feel more energised in a sense. One more tip I can give is put yourself on a schedule daily and stick to it that will make your body more used to your normal daily activities and you will be more energetic if you avoid sleeping in often.

Try waking at 7 or so in the morning daily as opposed to 9 or 10 AM. Try reading this hub it has some useful information that may help you as well. hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Improve-your-Mood-a I hope this helps you to a degree good luck to you.

I can very well correlate , lol.. Well people used to tell me to drink coffee but I never used to like coffee as it is not good for skin , thus I used to do a bit of exercise and wash my face whensoever I used to feel drowsy! Also you can keep mint or polo with you , it helps you keep awake and a well balanced diet can make you feel healthy and energetic , specially beans.

I believe there is an aspect of your life which prior to this feeling of tiredness you now observe use to be given priority, its either you have ignored it or forget about it....do a thorough examination of your over all routine and you'll identify the odd.....Good Luck.

It could be depression if so you will feel tired all the time and have aches and pains. It could be under-active Thyroid which will make you tired all the time also. Self diagnosing is never a good thing.

Only a real Dr. is qualified to tell you what the problem is. And it sounds like this has gone on for quite a while. Personally I think the stress of worrying about it could make it worse.

And you will feel better knowing what it is-or isn't.

There are a couple of things that can be done. First off, eat more veggies. Popeye ate spinach as a symbol to teach children to eat vegetables for this reason and a few others.

Next, make sure that you are eating enough. Many people rely on the average of 2000 calories needed daily for everyone when this is not the case. Check your basil metabolic rate online and make sure that your calorie intake is what your body needs it to be.

Next, go get some excessive. Remember an object in motion stays in motion but an object at rest stays at rest! Finally, don't sleep too much!

Sleeping too much can cause you to be sleepy throughout the day. A good 8 hours of sleep should be fine.

It depends, if you sleep too much, when you wake up you may feel drowsy or even tired.

I find myself struggling with the same problem latley exersize helps alot you have to force yourself to do it but once you do you will find you have more energy and feel better too.

I have heard there is a such thing as too much sleep, which makes you over tierd.

The other answers on here suggest diet and excercise. They're right. But is there another way to look at this....Motivation and energy are linked with acheivement (according to Maslow's "Heirarchy of needs").

If you feel tired during the day try breaking down your work load into bite size aceheivable chunks. Then as you go through the day tick these off a list. The sense of acheivement this will bring should put more of a spring in your step.

Sleep is only part of the answer. If we are assuming you are physically otherwise OK, you need to see what your oxygen level is in your blood. Low O2 will make you drag - and can be a result of anemia (eat things with iron in them), not breathing well, or environmental pollution - carbon monoxide at low levels can cause a lot of troubles like this.

Great question, I too have the same issue. The things that seem to help me most are excercise in the afternoon such as swimming and green tea.

To reiterate many other's points, diet and excercise are very important to balance in your lifebut also... WATER. Water is the source of all life on this earth, comprises about 85% of your body and many of your body's systems runs primarily off water (circulation, digestion) and is beyond taken for granted. Try doubling the amount of WATER (not soda/coffee) you consume on a daily basis and see how you feel after a week.

U may try drinking more water. Warmer water's better absorbed by the body, & it works wonders.

Sex is the better option will charge you for long day Sex is the secret of our energy..

Change your diet and eat more green leafy vegetables.

Always start your day with a smile and happy thoughts.. exercise and eat plenty of healthy foods. Think your loved ones.. they are your strength. =).

Take Bee Pollen vitamins. I couldn't get myself out of bed and to my early classes when I was a youngster in college. Once I got Bee Pollen in to my system after a few days, I woke up easily, had a decent day and fell asleep easily at night..and was well rested.

Sugar is a curious material. Consume a little, and it adds energy, consume it in excess, and it makes you tired. Don't just take my word for it, ask your Doctor about sugar.

Diabetes can be caused by, or aggravated by too much sugar. Two of my Aunts died of late-onset diabetes, and my oldest brother has it as well. I admit I like to eat doughnuts and drink Cokes that are loaded with sugar, but sometimes I can feel the effect of excess sugar building up in the blood.

Exercise if you don't already. Get those endorphins kicking and you will feel energized. Also try eating a healthy diet and maybe supplementing your diet with vitamins.

If you continue to feel lethargic I would probably visit my doctor just to make sure everything is ok. Good luck.

Take vitamins. It will help. Just try it.

Chronic fatigue is not actually an illness, but is a symptom of any number of illnesses. Seeing a doctor and performing tests for potentially high yield causes is a good step. Testing for anemia, thyroid functioning, vitamin levels, etc.Is a good idea.

If all the tests are negative, you may need to look at the quality of your sleep. A sleep study at your local hospital can determine if you have apnea (frequent stops in breathing while you sleep); if you do have apnea, there are devices to cure this. If the apnea test is negative, you can talk to the sleep specialist about potential neurological issues that may call for the use of a long term sleep medicine (such as Ambien or Lunesta).

These medicines improve sleep quality by relaxing tense muscles, especially in the lower trunk.

Take an hour each day and make some sports.

Drink more milk, excercises, making long jump. That's it.

Exercise. Even if you feel like exercise is the LAST thing you want to do. Trust me.

Humans, and men in particular need a good amount of real exercise to keep them sane. It's the way we're built.

Fatigue can be a sign of many things - thyroid problems, depression, sleep apnea... you may want to get some things checked out. Also, do you drink a lot of coffee? Sometimes, cutting out caffeine is necessary to make your body "reboot" and realize that a caffeinated you is not the same as energetic you.

Otherwise you will feel tired any time you don't have access to caffeine.

Go outside do some stretching and atleast 15 mins. Exercise.....

Thats a really open question, I really don't think no one on this hub can really give you a direct answer without knowing your medical condition. A lot of stuff may contribute to tiredness, including stress and even improper sleeping patterns.! How is your nutrition? Are you getting a balanced supply of all the essentials that contribute to fit and healthy lifestyle?

Is your mattress comfortable and supports your key sleeping areas properly? Do you sleep when you are tired or do you have set sleeping time? You see all these factors can contribute to tiredness.

Look at stuff around you that may contribute to this tiredness, get a medical checkup!

Need to define whether it is too much or too little for you as it may vary from each person to another. When you feel tired, observe in what situation, when, what time which you feel tired during the day? Usually, if you do something that you are not interested in or have no passion in it, you're actually bored but you may think that you are tired.

It is normal to feel tired after having lunch also, especially a big one! For those working in a office, you should know what I mean :-).

There are many underlying causes for feeling exhausted all the time. Fatigue has many faces and effects people differently. Some people say that it can be severe enough to effect their daily lives while others complain of mild to moderate symptoms of fatigue.

People who suffer from these symptoms on a regular basis often complain of mood swings, pain, headaches, sleep disturbances, loss of appetite and in severe cases even muscle spasms and soreness. Some say that these symptoms begin upon waking and can last throughout their day. There can be many reasons a person may experience these symptoms.

For example: poor diet and nutrition, stress factors, sleep disorders to low levels of certain enzymes and key vitamins which our bodies naturally deplete themselves of as we age. Another factor to look at is in people who take statin medications which are prescribed for high cholesterol. These medications work in the liver by blocking the production of cholesterol, and since they work in the liver these medications also block the production of key enzymes essential for cellular energy production as well as for the functioning of the heart muscle.

Patients who have been taking these medications for long periods of time are at greatest risk of experiencing the more extreme side of the symptoms as well as being prone to developing complications that can have fatal consequences. It is very important that we educate ourselves, listen to our bodies, and take the steps necessary to ensure our nutritional health and well being. If your car began making noises and the warning lights started flashing how long would you wait to find out what was wrong?

A week,a month, or even a year? I don't think you would. Your body was built with warning signals too, that you should not ignore.

Educate yourself, be proactive, and listen to your body.

Take short power naps during the day, just like when you were a kid . Doesn't that sound nice .

I alway sleepy and I alway do is splash water in my face two time.

You probably should start your day with healthy breakfast and some excersize. For example,I get up every morning at 8 or 9 o'clock,I eat my breakfast and then go to the gym. When I come back home...I must say that I feel excellent. In my opinion, that's the best way to start your day and to feel more energetic, even if you haven't had enough hours sleep.

:).

Exercise. Caffeine. Purpose.

Try 1 or all imo.

I agree with exercise, also ensure you get plenty of natural sugars found in juice and fruit to keep you energised and full of vitamins. If you’re looking for a power house of a breakfast or lunch, beans and eggs on toast that will keep you going!

You should probably excercise a little more, not to inquire that your a little heavyset or anything, but excercise could help. Also, I agree with what "crankalicious" says. There could also be a number of causes for it, but I would go and talk to a nutritionist.

Try Eating much in the morning. And get good supplements and energy drinks.. maybe you need to change your way of life..

You read exercise daily to be energetic always.

I would see an endocronologist. You may have a thryoid condition called Hashimoto's Disease.

Physical fitness makes a major difference in life. With it one doesn't allways feel tired and worn out. The muscles can carry one through real tough times without any extra stress felt.

Make sure you get your thyroid checked out as it could be linked to that. Aside from that, make sure to get lots of rest, eat well, and exercise!

You can try to consume some drinks that have isotonic or electrolytes in them. They will raise your energy bar quite considerably. Try it, I've experienced it myself even though I didn't believe at first that such drinks work indeed because of the isotonic or electrolytes contained in them.

You could try some chocolate energy bars. Something like Mars, Smash, whaverer is your favourite.

I have to deal with this problem myself. One thing There are several tricks I've picked up to deal with it. First, don't sleep 8 hours a night.

Recent research has show that our sleep cycles occur in 5 hour intervals and I personally have found that 6 hours is much more restful than 8+ hours. Next, it is important to establish a routine, set a time that you're going to get up and do so. It may suck for the first week or two but you will adapt to it.

Often it is getting up and going to bed at irregular times that throws off our sleep cycles. From there exercise and diet are important as is proper hydration. Another thing is avoiding any sugars, caffine or other such chemicals within the 2-3 hours prior to going to bed.

If you still have problems it could be a medical or mental health issue and you should seek help.

Sleep is only part of your overall wellbeing and how well you function throughout the day. You need to exercise and eat well if you want to feel good throughout the day. For example, a snack that's high in sugar but low in any other nutritional content (like protein) will just make your bloody sugar rocket, and you'll feel even groggier after a few hours.

I think exercising regularly will help. Physical activity allows our body to release certain chemicals that will allow you feel good about yourself.

Hours of sleep should be 8-10 hours only any more than that will really make you feel tired. Also try not to stay up too long, breaking your circadian rhythm can cause disruption in your sleep-wake pattern. Anyway, whenever I feel tired because of oversleepingI drink lemonade.

:) It's a natural energizer. You can also try waking up early and exercise while the air is still clean. Of listen to a good (positive) upbeat song to keep your mood high.

I have the same problem. I never get enough sleep and am almost always tired.Coffee. Coffee.

COFFEE! It's a real life saver that stuff:D.

As suggested by others sleeping for 6 to 8 hours is good for the body. Any deviation from this is harm.As you haven't mentioned other details, I recommend you to try the following. I am trying to suggest different points that others have left out.

* Try to observe your sleeping positions on bed - not all positions give your body proper rest during sleep. You might be on the bed for a longer time, but you might not be having proper sleep. * If you are feeling tired during the day, it can mean less motivation.

Take time and observe yourself if you are continuously racing your mind. Pick one day and try to do things peacefully without any hurry. Take more time than usual and see if you notice any difference in your energy levels that day.

Good luck!

Try refreshing yourself with a nice bath and a nice meal. It works for me. =D But if this continues, you might need to see a doctor.

Yes, something in your diet. If your blood sugar level is close to the normal high side - 100, you will feel sleepy all the time. You better cut your carbs intake.

It has been mentioned several times already but sleep apnea could certainly be causing or contributing to your fatigue. While it is not something you'd detect on your own, if anyone else sleeps with you, you can ask them to be on the watch to see if you stop breathing in your sleep. For mild cases, you may see improvement simply by sleeping on your side but if it is more serious, it's something that you'd be wise to address.

If left untreated, I believe that sleep apnea over time is very bad for the heart.

There could be many reasons for feeling tired. If you are eating too many carbohydrates/sugars, you can have highs and lows throughout the day for your body adjusting to the spikes in sugar intake. There are so many preservatives in our food.

Get back to nature and eat only things that are grown (organic is best) and animals that are fed whole grains or grass. Say goodbye to chips, pretzels, ice cream, cheese, sodas and yes, alcohol too. Our livers are suffering from trying to filter all the preservatives and "fake foods" we eat.

This also applies to breakfast, I eat what I feel like eating, if it is left over curry from the night before so be it,it doesn't have to be cereal just because it is breakfast time, in fact I feel more benefit eating this way and less as the day goes on, finishing with cereal at evening meal.

I do not feel this way every day, but when I do I go with the flow and have found no ill effects, and I still sleep at night.
