I want to edit hd dv film but have a non dv camera. Can I use my camera to dwnload the hd film without losing hd format My camera is a canon 3ccd GL1 but it is not a hd camera. I need to edit some hd digital video and I'm not sure how to download it to keep the hd format since I usually just firewire my camera to my computer.
Any suggestions. Asked by natalievideo 34 months ago Similar questions: edit hd dv film camera dwnload losing format Computers > Hardware > Desktops & Laptops.

Nope. Your camera will have to convert to SD format to get it to the PC through the firewire I guess I don't quite understand - where is the HD video coming from if not your camera? A DVR, from another person?
Can't you just transfer it to a stick and copy it over? Sources: My suggestion .
Based on what you have provided, you can not do this. I'm taking your word about the camera being a non hd camera. If this is true, then you can not remove hd video from a camera that can not film in hd.
However if the camera CAN film in hd, make sure of your settings. Regardless of HD or non HD, using firewire will not affect how the video is stored on your computer. If it is regular definition film then that is the format you get on the computer, the same applies for HD.
Firewire is a means for data transmission only, nothing gets changed or edited during removal from the camera. Hope this was helpful. Sources: my opinion .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
