If no cell phone service/signal in my area due to nearby mountains, will a wireless router work?

I've been told that since I can not get a cell phone signal in my area due to valleys and mountains that a wireless router (for wi-fi) also will not work. True or false? I think someone is confused... Wi-Fi has nothing to do with cellular towers - a wireless access point is the source of the wifi signal and therefore is located in your own home. So unless you have a huge mountain between your family room and wireless access point (aka wireless router), you shouldn't have any issues at all. :) The only thing I can think of that may lend some truth to your question/statement is if you're talking about a wireless data card, which is a business device offered by Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, etc. Those cards DO rely on the cellular network, but the selling point with them is that you can access the internet anywhere that there is cell signal.

If you have no cell signal at home, then one of those cards would not work for you. The data plans for those cards is typically quite expensive, though, so I'm guessing that's not what you're looking for. Good luck!

If you are too far out of town for cellular service, there is probably nobody around you with a public wi-fi service. However, assuming you have high speed internet already, then definitely get yourself a wireless router, and free yourself from your desk. The wireless router gives you your own wi-fi service, so you can take your laptop around the house.

(I am typing this in the living room, 3 miles from cellular service. However, dur to my distance from town, I had to go with satellite internet to get high speed.) .

Yes Yes, it will work. A computer's wireless connection is not dependent on location of satellites in outer space, it is dependent on your wireless router's signal. It also depends on how strong your router signal is..

False false. A wireless router broadcasts out only a few hundred feet. I suspect your mountains are much father away than that, so they can't block the signal between your pc and your router..

Can you get cell phone signal using wireless internet router signal.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
