Yes, it is sad but, true to form for him. He cares about one person, himself. He was raised by nannies, who gave him everything that he asked for .

The only thing they couldn't give him was the maternal love that he so craved, thus he grew up to become a very selfish and fickle person indeed. What was no longer wanted, he just discarded. This was made VERY apparent when his adultery with his mistress Camilla Parker Bowles was revealed.

Reading all that (searched Google) it seems she died only MONTHS after Diana died and years before Charles married Camilla! She was clearly pretty unstable in any case, and hardly a candidate to marry Charles even had she been alive at the time he married Camilla.
