All of those so-called tricks you cited are the normal way of doing business in the Senate and House. The difference is that Republicans pointed them out to the public as if they were illigitimate processes but that is exactly what happens every day in D.C. No one reads the bills themselves, they have 50 people on their staffs who sort through and distill important items, they very often vote in the dead of night and in recess and holidays, and there are always favors traded to get bills passed because that is how lobbyists work by influencing Congressmen and Senators on behalf of their clients. This isn't "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington".

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
