Probably nothing. Genetics is what governs hair growth; your heredity (and your parents and grandparents) are to be blamed.
Eating right can make your hair grow better. Are you using a conditioner? It's possible you have brittle hair and it's breaking off because it's dry and dead.

I wll reamp my diet to include more fruits and veggies. I strayed way from them in the past months. I used to regulary eat them in the past.

That makes sense; it's always a good idea to eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Another thing that I find is often under-emphasized in the diet of Americans is healthy fat sources, such as seafood, nuts, olive oil, avocado, etc. Good luck!
