I'm joining the National Guard and I am 5 pounds over weight...what kind of diet and exercise can I do with out starving Let's put it this way, I love to eat! : ) I usually cook a starch, boiled or steamed veggies, and some form of meat (chk, fish, or steak) for dinner. Try to stay away from fried food as much as possible.
But I love sweets! And I don't ever deprive my self from cookies or ice cream.... : ) Asked by AbsolutelyBtfl 6 months ago Similar questions: joining National Guard pounds weight kind diet exercise starving Health > Fitness & Diet.

Start running, exercise exercise exercise! , eat well balanced meals , lots of veggies, you can eat as much as you want of raw veggies, cut out the fast food, high fat, junk food, you should be able to lose 5 lbs in a week, 2 at the most if you eat right and EXERCISE! .
Yeah, do a lot of running, and get used to it. You will do a lot of running while in BASIC, etc. See if you can get a back-pack and put some weight in it; later on. Ask your recruiter about the current physical fitness standards, and then see if you can train to meet the standards.
Also, don't worry to much about being a few pounds over weight, because everyone is, and believe me, they will get you fit while your in training. And if your too light, they will practically force feed you during your meal breaks. Best of luck .

Eat the same things, just reduce the portions and you're good to go. Enjoy working out too! Good luck 6 months ago.
Cut out the spuds, white bread, white rice and sugar (ok, most of it) and up your excercise level.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
