In Episode V "Hoth Battle" how do you kill the big walking droids? I am putting out my cable to trip them but they never fall down?

You use the tow cable featured in many vehicles. When you fly by them the cross-hairs will appear on their legs shoot the cable so it begins to wrap their legs together. After a couple of circles around it it falls on the ground.

You then go pick up one of the small bombs with the tow cable and you hit the guy with the bomb.(while he is still on the floor cause after a while he gets up).
