Nope and nope During August, most of the newsmaker folks are on vacation, so the real news flow slows to a sweaty trickle. They have to do something to fill all that white space and time, so a whole lot of nonsense stories end up taking up space. It's no problem at all to make a big hole in a ship, not for 30 years or so.
The French have been selling Exocet missiles to just anyone since 1980. Some Yemeni Yahoos did the same thing to the USS Cole with a rowboat and some gunpowder. The Chinese are not going to do anything to anybody.
They have trillions of dollars loaned out to the USA and other countries, plus they make about a trillion each year in sales to the world, so they're not going to do anything to damage their markets and loans and investments. Even if they went batspit-crazy, our Navy is about 50 times the size of theirs, so you can see who would get the bad end of that fight.
It won't warm up that much as long as we owe them $10,000,000,000,000+. This is all political posturing. They strut and chest thump, then we strut and chest thump.
They say, "Oh, no you don't! " and we say, "Who loves ya, baby? " Actually, China is headed farther west, not east..
2 That missile was reported quite a while ago. The threat is not from China herself, it's from countries that they would sell it to, like Venezuela, perhaps, or worse, Iran. China doesn't want a military confrontation with the U.S.; we are making them rich, and don't forget all the T-bills they're holding..

3 Yeah, Ichthe is right, this is China's supersonic anti-ship missile. The US Navy has nothing that can stand up against it, not even on the drawing boards (its simply too fast, and the kinetic energy it delivers, even with a conventional warhead or just something like a cobalt metal tip would be devastating to a carrier). The Iranians have their own version of it called the Sunburst, developed by Russia.
These missiles are essentially the conventional version of a nuclear armed cruise missile (which no IBM defense is capable of stopping).

They already own us in T Bills and real estate. All they need to do is call in all those I.O.U.'s and guess what, the Us is bankrupt. We all then need to learn a new language.
Not one shot fired.
" "Do you think history will look back at the Iraq War as a FINANCIAL mistake by the United States?" "I am looking for a DVD set to learn about the United States history. What would you recommend me?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
