Eat sensibly You don't need to 'diet. ' You just need to eat sensibly. I am a type 2 diabetic, so yes, I have to watch my food!(I love to watch it....grin....) Eat protein in the mornings.
An egg and toast is fine. No fruit juices. Eat the whole fruit.
Fruit juices have too much concentrated sugar from the fruit in them and many have high fructose corn syrup added. DO NOT DRINK ANYTHING OR EAT ANYTHING WITH HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP IN IT. You will be amazed at how much stuff has it.
Avoiding that alone will definitely help control your blood sugar! Lots of fresh fruits and veggies. Use extra virgin olive oil instead of butter when you can.
You can use evoo (extra virgin olive oil) in cakes as well, if you bake, or breads or anything you like. Make your own dressings and don't use store-bought. If you like sweet dressings, try a little Miracle Whip thinned with some water and add a dash of cayenne pepper.
It's sweet and spicy without a lot of garbage in it. I thin the stuff a lot, really, as a little goes a long way. Eat a bowl of oatmeal (NOT THE PRESWEETENED JUNK) once a day.
That helps the cholesterol. But don't worry about the cholesterol too much. Most of the stuff on that is hype.
About 50% of people who have strokes and heart attacks have high cholesterol. That means about 50% don't. The key to health is simply a healthy lifestyle.
Stay away from junk food of all kinds. If you adore chocolate, then have half a small chocolate bar. Don't have something 'chocolate flavored.
' Go for the straight stuff! It will not be nearly as harmful and chocolate is also a decent antidepressant and a very good way to lower blood pressure. But once a day is really enough!
Choose your most stressful time and then plan to indulge in the chocolate! At any rate, protein in the mornings will really help control hunger and energy level through the morning, and that will prevent that deadly cycle of hunger/stuff/hunger/stuff that can ruin a day. And don't forget your muscles.
They need to be useful. Do some physical work or other exercise everyday. This also helps control your blood sugar level.
If you like coffee or tea, heat up the pot with a cinnamon stick in it. This is also a help with blood sugar. You can do it!

I'd seek another opinion Unless this guy is a nutritionlist....then I'd still seek another opinion. There are TWO groups of CARBS: simple: ice cream, cookies, candies etc. Complex: rice, beans, pasta(all the foods you need for good bowel health & brain function) I can see him asking you to NOT eat simple carbs, but UNLESS your planning to do a LO-CARB diet lifelong, it is a very unnatural way to lose weight, and you will NEVER keep it off. If your sugar is high, stay away from foods with a higher sugar count.
Low fat does not mean low sugar.........jelly beans and red vines have NO FAT but they are loaded with tons of SUGAR. I would get myself a small pocket size book with suger counts of foods and dictate my diet after that. You need COMPLEX carbs....energy, your brain, bowel movements.................thats why a low carb diet will only give you FAST weight loss NOT long lasting.............because there is NO way you can live on a diet like that permantely!

South Beach I have a problem with my sugar level due to a hormone problem that I have had all my life. I am currently taking Glucophage which was given to me by my OBGYN. P.
S I have lost 32lbs in 4 months . I have used and still use the South Beach diet I think it is wonderful! Buy the book and really read it.
Its great reading. You can use it for the whole family and go out to eat and nobody would ever know you are on a diet unless you want to tell them.
South Beach There are plenty of diets that meet that description, but the one I know of that works best is the South Beach diet. It encourages both low carb consumption as well as low fat. But you don't need to follow anybody's rigorous plan.
Instead, just eat what you've always been eating and substitute low-carb and low-cholesterol foods. You don't actually have to go low-fat to lower your cholesterol. Simply cut out the high-cholesterol products (like red meat, shrimp, and butter) and use more olive oil and white-meat chicken, pork, and fish.In fact, "cholesterol" is more complicated than that.
The high-density cholesterol (HDL) is very good for you, helping to clear out the dangerous LDL from your system. Fish with a lot of fat, like salmon, is actually very good for you despite a lot of cholesterol. Eating more vegetables, especially dark green vegetables, is always better for you.
So are whole grains; they have carbohydrates but a lot of other good things. It's the "white" carbohydrates (white pasta, rice, potatoes, white bread) that will raise blood sugar without providing nutrition other than calories. But if you need a plan to help you, the South Beach diet is as good as any.

Scarsdale The Scarsdale diet is low carb and low fat. Of course, it's a diet, and you didn't say that you wanted to lose weight, so you'd probably want to modify it somewhat. It's fairly simple; you eat low-fat proteins such as lean meat, fish, or chicken, and avoid starches, grains, dairy, sugar, and high-carb fruits. In the complete diet you follow a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off schedule.
The "off" includes some dairy and other items. Since a wide selection of vegetables are part of the diet, it's actually pretty healthy - lots of fiber and vitamins. You can find all the information on the link I provided, or (of course) you can buy the book.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
