Jehovah's Witnesses: If the name Jehovah is so important, then why is it never used in the entire Greek New T?

Because JWs PUT IT THERE. And the name "Jehovah" *isn't* ANYwhere, including in the old Testament. I speak Modern Greek fluently and I can read Koine Greek.

First of all, there was no "J" in Hebrew when the Old Testament was written. It was added later as an accommodation to the evolution of the sound "i." And if the word "Jehovah" HAD been there, it would be in the Septuagint -- the Koine Greek translation of the Old Testament.

It's *not there*. What's more, "Jehovah" is not in the Koine Greek New Testament which is the source for all translations. Here is the answer of Jewish member of Y/A in regard to the same question: 'Jehovah' was never in the original Hebrew scriptures, the Tanakh.

The only remnant of the holiest Jewish name for G-d that we have is YHVH. We don't know how it would sound as it was only ever said aloud on Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day Of Atonement, when it was said by the high priest in the temple in Jerusalem. It was early Xian theologians who wrongly added vowels to end up with both 'jehovah' and 'yahweh'.

What I'd like to know from JWs is WHY would anyone remove the name? It's bizarre to think that happened. There would have been NO reason to do that, and NO ONE would have dared tamper with the word of God.

What I am finding to be very helpful is using an interlinear bible website that someone recommended to me. If you can pinpoint the little bits of Greek that signal to the English word, then you'll get where Jehovah was removed from and if it was there in the first place. But there are people who have studied these ancient languages all their lives, I think they would know how to translate it.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
