Looking for a free website that publishes information about non-profit organizations. If found one called guidestar.org. But, when you get to the part where they show on the financials, what the top five people in the organization are pay, then you have to pay.
Like you need to spend $100 per year for membership! I really want to know which are legitimate because I donate to several throughout the year. Thanks for any info!

Charitynavigator.org The Foundation Center (foundationcenter.org) maintains a list of links on their website with subjects ranging from fundraising, to public policy, to nonprofit management. ...one of those lists include websites that monitor charities. http://foundationcenter.org/gainknowledge/nonprofitlinks/fund.
Html#charity ...and on that list is this great website called Charity Navigator http://www.charitynavigator.org if you haven’t hrd.... "Charity Navigator, America’s premier independent charity evaluator, works to advance a more efficient and responsive philanthropic marketplace by evaluating the financial health of over 5,400 of America’s largest charities. " you simply go to their website, search for a charity you are interesting in finding out info for, and in an all-in-one format, you get to find out the charity’s mission, their finances, revenue, growth, administrative expenses, etc. There is a lot of info. And you can also rate and comment on a charity.
Charity navigator also has several top ten lists * 10 Most Requested Charities * 10 Charities with the Most Consecutive 4-Star Ratings * 10 Most Commented Charities * 10 Least Reviewed Charities with gh Ratings * 10 ghly-Rated Charities with Low Paid CEOs * 10 Super-Sized Charities * 10 Slam-Dunk Charities * 10 Charities Drowning in Administrative Costs * 10 of the Best Charities Everyone’s Heard Of * 10 Charities Routinely in the Red * 10 Charities Expanding in a Hurry Charity Navigator also have articles and commentary on hot topics such as "The Worst (and Best) Way to Pick A Charity This Year" which they mention 3 criteria social investors should consider when picking a charity to give to. http://www.kenscommentary.org/2009/12/worst-and-best-way-to-pick-charity-this.html overall, there is a lot of useful info on their website. And all this info is free.
You don’t even have to register. Well, you are only requird to register (free registration) if you want to view historical data on a charity..

Books on Strategy in a non-profit organazition business.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
