There are quite a few that are legit, but many scams too. The general rule is if they ask for money, they're a scam. If you don't have to give anything up to take the surveys, they're legit.
Part of the problem, though, is that many of them are like mahalo. They have a limit to what you can cash out, say, a minimum of 40 dollars. You might save up 36 dollars in your account, and then they stop sending you surveys so you never get pushed over the 40 dollar line to be able to cash out.
Other ones will require you take unpaid surveys before you are sent the paid ones. I do a few survey websites. Surveyspot.Com is the best I've done, they have a payout limit of something like $5.
I cashed out my first time with 22 dollars in my account and found it was legit, so now I'm saving up since I know they'll come clean for the money. Most surveys are 1 or 3 dollars for about a half an hour of very dull work, but I've had a few for 5 or 10 dollars. They are very repetitive and you don't always qualify for all of them.
I actually did a 3 part survey not long ago for $50 dollar which I WAS paid for. The first part was to watch an online video about how to ask questions during a doctor visit. The second part was to use an online tool and basically make notes about what you would ask on your next doctor visit.
The third part was after your doctor visit, and you discussed if you followed your plan. Probably about 2.5 hours of work for the $50 dollars. You get more paid surveys if you do more unpaid surveys.
I've made a couple hundred dollars off that site. It's similar to mahalo, you wait until you have as much as you want and request a payout. They mail you a cheque.
Part of the problem, too, is that they don't send surveys often. If you sat there for a 40 hour work week just doing continuous surveys, you could easily make $200-$300 a week, but there aren't that many available on just one site. Surveyspot which pays me the most is maybe $4 of surveys available a week.
Another one I used is surveylion. They don't have very many surveys, however, maybe one every 2-3 weeks, and they send you a cheque for each survey. It's actually a bit annoying to bring in a handfull of cheques for $1 and $3 to the bank. My ex-roommate does pinecone research which is paid the same way, though she does surveys on a lot of product samples like testing frozen hashbrowns.
She made quite a lot of money off that, unfortunately, you can only apply at certain times; they limit testers. I also do mysurvey. Ca (there is an American version of that too).
They award surveys in points and actually send surveys quite often. Points are used to buy things. SOME surveys are paid out in chapters gift certificates and I made 25 dollars on 3 surveys.. enough to buy one of my text books.
So if you enjoy doing surveys, then sign up for a few sites, just make sure you don't have to provide any bank or credit card information, and use a email account that is not your main one. Don't plan to make a lot, but it's a good pass time if you can get a few extra bucks in your pocket. I've likely made about 300 dollar in the last year but I don't do all the surveys.
I suggest starting with surveyspot.com. I have definitely gotten paid from that one. Good luck!
I think most of them are scams. Whenever I hear about a survey site, I always Google it first and I always end up finding people talking about it on some forum or blog about how it's a scam. The only one that I've found to be legit is eRewards.
But you don't get paid in cash from this site, you earn "eRewards" that you can use to purchase things on their sites or to get discounts. I've used by rewards for free magazine subscriptions, free DVD movies, $15 off at Borders, etc. I've been doing surveys with them for probably 2-3 years. I've stuck with them because I'm hoping they'll get some better rewards like gift certificates or something.
Anyway, this is my experience with surveys. Hope it helps. :).
Most of the online survey sites are scams...Any website that asks you for a "small" initial investment are scams. I have been paid by 2 survey websites...globaltestmarket. Com and surveysavvy.com.
Chk them out! I get my monthly cheques on time.
This one here is legit: OpinionOutpost.com/join/8353968 I've made about $60 so far.
There are many sites out there that really do pay. Get Paid To Try is one of the better ones. Yes, there are lots of scams -- you just have to check the sites out.
Try Get Paid - I've been a member for a long time. getpaidtotry.com.
Of course paid surveys are legit. You will have to answer some questions and submit it weekly or monthly. Then they will pay you.
But you have to be aware of spams as well. Source: getpaidtotry.com.
The best paid survey site is cashcrate.com/1754329.
The point is there are lots of scam sites as well along with the legit sites. The main point of difference is that a legit site would never ask for money from you to take a survey.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
