Our new kitten (approximately 9 months old) is terrorizing our older cats - she just wants to play I think, but she is very aggressive - but no growling, although she does bite them and scratches too....I feel bad for the other much older cats. I try to divert the kitten's attention (and we all play with her, too) but to really no avail. Any suggestions?

She is a rescued/feral cat and we really love her. HELP! Asked by quandryhere 40 months ago Similar questions: kitten approximately months terrorizing older cats play Pets > Cats.

There is a movement to save feral animals from being put down; one site is listed below. I came upon a site in Arizona: *alteredtails. Org* (Phone 642-943-SPAY) a while ago, and that may be a good place for you to call for some immediate expert information.

You can subscribe to the site for quite a bit of excellent information. A word of caution, tho, a true feral animal is one that has not been socialized as a pet, but learned its ’manners’ from another wild animal and is therefore potentially very dangerous. You have on your side your caring and love for the rescue of otherwise unwanted animals, and the fact that your kitten is still a kitten.

But barely a kitten. With patience and allowing your little wild one to get used to its new surroundings, in addition to your domestic pets, you should be able to do just fine. Be very careful about your domesticated pets, your little kitten will dominate them in a second, and may cause a great deal of harm to them.

And/or you and yours. It’s always a sticky situation to introduce a new pet into a household as you may well know, but your new little wild one does not care to play well with others. I would give the new kitten its privacy and a place of its own until it decides to come out and explore.

With that said, I obviously have no idea as to the temperament of the new addition, while knowing that, you'll obviously do what you know to be appropriate to the situation. Do keep the claws cropped and let the kitten approach you--if any animal comes at you just grab a rug, towel, or blanket, throw it over it and calm it--that’s for your protection as well as you pet’s. Also a good way to clip your kittens nails--some make a type of thick material sack garment, with one hole for the pet’s head and one hole for the pet’s nail that is to be clipped.

There may be some laws regarding feral animals in your area; I’d check into that one really quickly. Cattle ranchers want to get rid of feral Mustangs, and there is an organization that saves them too. You may know much of what I’ve written here; however, I hope some information helps you or others.

Much good luck, Byrrha Sources: My life with pets.

1 I would not worry too much, when the older ones have had enough they will tell the little fella with a good swat to leave them alone! Sounds like your older cats a real nice cats, very patient...:@) .

2 When I rescued a semi-feral kitten, my husband suggested bringing another youngster home from the shelter at which I volunteered. It worked. The kitten stopped pestering my much older cats because she had someone close to her own age who was actually interested in playing with her!

" "my two cats are 12 months old how much caned food and biscuits should they eat a day" "Cats or Dogs and Y?" "I will be away for 2-3 months and need a live-in cat sitter for my two indoor cats. Should I charge the sitter rent?

I have an 8 week old kitten and a 5 month old kitten and the older kitten is hurting the younger one when they play.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
