There's no reason why you cant talk about this together but id recommend two things: When you talk about it, let it be as though you are just not sure about some of the points that you mentioned. In this way they will try to help you see why the religion is true. While they are still trying to convince you, it will be easier to then transition from "unsure" to "unbeliever" For instance, if they do not satisfactorily answer your quarrels it will just seem like it is something to talk about again later.
By spreading it over a few talks, it is more easily acceptable as a transition. Never know, you might find you can still find solace in your religion. I'm afraid I'm not very versed on Sikhism, but the second thing id suggest is to try to find an opportunity to fit your uncertainty in with a religious activity that you feel is part of the reason your religion is flawed (in this case the hair point which you make seems logical) As long as you are patient and let them know that you still agree with the fundamentals and take it slowly, you should be ok.
This might mean that you agree to keep the hair for a while, while you discuss it with your parents but after several talks, you must let them know that you still find the same flaws have not been answered and that you may never change your mind. Good luck to you I really hope it goes well.
Heavens boy, I am a felang and even I know the turban has the purpose of stopping a sword blow to the head. As for the rest well people believed water was an element in the old days, why trouble yourself with what are not unalterable thoughts, but lack of understanding of basic elements and forces, they are the ideas of one man, nothing more. A man who may well have been a great scientist had he lived today, but he didn't and as such he was ignorant.
There wasn't another option at the time.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
