Yes it should be banned. It is cruelty to the pig pure and simple with no redeeming social value. The pigs can wind up with broken legs, not to mention being terrified the whole time for no reason but the "amusement" of spectators.
What is really strange and sad is that any attempt to research the details turns up page after page of rednecks attacking PETA. Both PETA and most Humane Societies oppose this form of gratuitous cruelty to animals.
Oh bah humbug A greased pig is hard to catch. Yeah, they get held down, and they run around a bit, and they get a bit frightened with all the noise. Grief, its a pig :) I know pigs are smart, but I also know pigs have tough hides, have to run from predators and will probably be eaten in the next month or so .....considering its future life as bacon or even as a breeder, being chased around greased up for a few hours isn't that bad is it?
Good grief What will they think of next.....
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
