Should I tell my best friends boyfriend that she cheated on him?

My friend recently cheated on her boyfriend. She was with this other guy for about a week before she decided to break up with her boyfriend. She didn't want to tell him that she cheated on him.

He has no idea what happened and why she did this. The worst part is that she want's to foster a friendship with him in order for him to take her to this concert he had bought tickets for them to go to. I think she is being really selfish and she is really showing no remorse for what she did.

The sad thing is...she has cheated on all but 1 of her boyfriends. Her ex is coming to me asking for advice about what to do. She told him when they broke up that they might get back together.

I wouldn't initiate the statement, but given that he's coming to you with the question you probably should answer. I've got a very strong personal feeling against 'managing' or manipulating my friends, so I wouldn't have initiated the conversation with her ex, or any of her beaus (although I hope I'd have had the courage to have a conversation with her about why she needs to do this and whether she's aware of the hurt she's causing). But if he's coming to you with the question, that means that he already has his suspicions, and it wouldn't be right to tell him a lie.

However, perhaps you can use his impending visit as a way to raise the subject with your girlfriend first: 'He's coming to see me, he's asked, I don't feel I can tell him a lie ... but have you thought about why you have to break your promises? Not to mention the possibility of passing on all sorts of nasties ...?' You know, 'people like us' (whoever we may be) tend to think that STDs are for other people, but she risks passing on not only the horrors but also chlamydia - which might render infertile any of her ex's wives ... it might be worth reading up on those things first. And be prepared for rather a lot of denial and self-serving comments.

Over time, these things tend to take care of themselves. As much as you want to become involved, it almost always blows up in your face, no matter how good your intentions. One of the most unpredictable things in the world is the behavior of a friend regarding matters of the heart, especially when "advice" or "information" comes from YOU.

Better to let time take care of these things than to run the risk of destroying a friendship over something that had nothing to do with you in the first place. Sometimes, your input ends up being safe long after the resolution of the matter, at which time your friend will understand how difficult it was for you, or they'll blow up at you over it. That only indicates that this person was never a real friend anyway.In either case, time does resolve these things without your offering two cents.

I think, that because they both are your friends, that you owe it to your girlfriend to talk to her first. Tell her that you are not comfortable about this and that the ex has come to you asking for advice. Tell her that she needs to tell him the truth or that you will have no choice but to do so because you do not wish to lie to him.

This is a very sticky situation because you could end up losing two friends. The only other thing you could do is divorce yourself from the whole situation by telling both of them that you no longer wish to know their problems and that you are not telling either of them anything. Either way..you are caught in the middle and I have a problem with friends who get other friends caught in the middle of their problems..because sooner or later, you will have to either leave them alone or pick a side...or just be totally honest.

You could try, but he probably won't believe you.. Reading between the lines, your girlfriend is probably quite attractive--and young.. That makes it easy to get away with it... I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
