I usually buy a bridal shower gift using their registry or a gift card. If we are going to the wedding we give a check usually making sure I pay for the cost of the dinner for both of us and at least an extra $75 to $100 for the couple. Between me and you......the young people usually live together before getting married so being they buy a lot of things before the marriage.

The cash gift helping them pay for the cerimony and honeymoon expenses probably is more welcome.

Another comment.... I got annoyed at one of my daughter's friends. She got married and invited me to the bridal shower and us to the wedding. I went to the shower and I had another commitment and we could not go to the wedding but we sent her a nice card and $100 check.

I never got a thank you note. Everyone else did. Should I ask?

I only buy one gift - usually for the shower. I always buy off the registry.

I would think it depends on how close you are to the bride or groom but I would buy a smaller and less expensive gift for the shower then a more expensive wedding gift. Buying from the registry is a great idea. You could buy one part of a set for the shower and then give the rest of the set for the wedding gift.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
