We would go to the others house and actually talk to them in person. When you broke down you would have to walk to the nearest gas station, so I guess that is one advantage to cell phones.

There was more reliance on writing as a form of communication and organization, and more focus on activities and sociability for entertainment. Examples: people wrote letters and memoranda much more; and entertained themselves with games (chess, checker, go, all manner of board game) and by interacting with others (socials, cocktail parties, dances, amateur athletics. )Of course, the time, place and social stratum matter a great deal in terms of what people actually did, but these are a few indicative instances.

I still enjoy reading books myself. But listening to music has definitely been a choice of entertainment around the world for centuries. I think that's how people managed to still be entertained.

We talked with one another and laughed. We did things together...like go to the park and play ball, swim, or walk. We went to the library!

:) We made plans and kept them. We used a calendar or a piece of paper to remind ourselves of things.

Everyone depends on cell phones, calculators, photocopiers, computers and other appliances. Sure they afford convenience. But you and I know that many machines are the source of laziness and addiction.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
