The bonus questions really lower the intelligence bar on this website. Too many fruit flies. Why so indulgent?

1 The AV team has made the statement that the BQs help "pay the rent". I would much rather put up with an annoying BQ from time to time than see ads and pop-ups all over the place. I may be wrong, but....

2 This is the umpteenth bonus question related post today. Two "protesters" were trying to get the attention of the development team. I don't know if they succeeded there but they've certainly awakened Askville.

LolLook, the development team has explained that the bonus questions help offset the costs of running this site. That's a good reason for us to be a little flexible, since this site costs us nothing to use. They've acknowledged that there are problems with the bonus questions.

They've said they will be working to improve them and asking for input from Askvillers. They've modified the bonus questions in the past in response to our complaints, so there's hope. It seems reasonable to take a deep breath, give the team a chance and see what happens. In the meantime, asking some interesting questions and providing intelligent answers and comments seems a good antidote to the problem of bonus questions.

3 Your last paragraph: That's only if people can find the intelligent questions buried within the morass of BQ's - many of which are answered by the same person who is so "gold greedy" it's bloody ridiculous.

4 It's like driving through a construction zone, nothing but orange BQ blocks for miles. Thx anyway for your answer.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
