Remove the topic "askville bonus" from the bonus questions and you will eliminate 75% of the point gaming?

Remove the topic "askville bonus" from the bonus questions and you will eliminate 75% of the point gaming. Use regular topics unless the question is actually about askville bonus questions. That is my suggestion for what to do next.

Not really. And I'll tell you why. Those who are trying to get massive points with that topic, will find another that is frequently used by the bonus questions. As an example, take the topic "toner".

Crazy, I know, but I'm using it to prove a point. There are over TWENTY THOUSAND bonus questions about toner! It is totally insane.

I am answering as many of them as I can, to illustrate the huge problem we have here, with the bonus questions. I think that Askville thinks that now they are off the home pages, they are "out of sight, out of mind". I intend to appeal 50 at a time, until Askville says enough is enough.

They will either just vote all of them down (which is fine with me) or they'll stop voting on the BQ appeals, altogether. If that happens, the only ones answering them will be mTurkers and colluders. In any case, I think the damage has been done. At this point my only interest in answering questions on Askville is to challenge/explore the system.

If you want to see an example of a toner question, with one of my answers, here's a link: askville.amazon.com/V7-Toner-Cartridge-V... I'll start appealing them in a couple of weeks, so you can expect to see dozens of them (if you vote on BQ appeals at all). Goldie .

1 Questions appearing in the Bonus Box no longer have Askville Bonus as a topic, unless the user explicity put it there. They're just regular questions that are a few days old and have no answers. However, Mr. Bonus is still generating questions at a frenetic pace, and they can still be answered from the Askville Bonus topic page:askville.amazon.com/askville-bonus/Topic... there are still more than a million of them there.

Anybody who wants to keep answering them can continue to do so.

PamPerdue replied to post #1: 3 It looks to me as if the old bonus questions (which still number over a million) are still tagged with "askville bonus" but that newly-generated questions won't have them. Meaning, I suspect, that we'll see plenty of gold-gaming until those old, highly valuable questions are answered.

IchtheosaurusRex replied to post #3: 4 The new ones on the Askville Bonus topic page are still generated with Askville Bonus as a topic. There were 11,500 new ones since my last count when I looked this morning. If you go there now, you'll see questions that are only a few minutes old.

The only difference is that these are no longer going into the Bonus Box. People who like to answer these in batches can still do so, so I don't think Mr. OrangeHead is going to be gone for quite some time.

What are the benefits of doing community questions rather than askville bonus questions.

I would like to see the 'askville bonus' topic removed from the bonus questions unless the bonus question is *about.

These idiot bonus questions: I've just sent feedback to Askville thus.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
